CHAPTER 9: NICE PICTURE

I was first to my room again. I guess some things don't change.

Once the bell rang, the other students finally went into their respective classrooms. Jennifer was glaring at me again. Hey. She has to deal with it. At least until my grandma runs out of the clothes she bought me. Everyone was being a little noisier than usual. Once the teacher came in, it didn't die down.

"Quiet class! I know you're all excited about the '#1' but you can discuss it after classes. Now pay attention." He told us. Well, i'm not really excited but, whatever.

I noticed Jennifer sat next to Zane today. She was trying to hold his hand but he kept it out of her reach. She ignored his evasive maneuvers and touched his arm this time. She was getting more handsy than usual. And Zane...

"Sir!" Zane raised his hand. Jennifer looked shocked.

"Why yes Mr. Matthews?"

"Can I transfer to another seat?" Jennifer started to pout at this.

"Of course. Take the seat next to Ms. Hovde." Aw, come on! Zane got up and sat next to me giving Jennifer another reason to glare at me. I sighed, and just ignored Zane the whole period.

After the first half of classes, I headed to the cafeteria. But someone got in my way.

"Rochelle!" It was Kim.

"Hi Kim." I smiled at her.

"Congratulations by the way! I hope you take my place."

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh. You don't know? Come with me!" She grabbed my hand excitedly and led me in front of the door that had 8 pictures of girls and 8 pictures of guys. Mine was included. On instinct, I ripped the poster off the door.

"I see now." I said.

"Woah! Calm down Rochelle. It's not really the worst thing that could happen to you." She said trying to calm me down. I wasn't really that upset anyway. But I was UPSET.

"I'll see you later Kim." I told her and left.

I skipped lunch. I waited outside the classroom where I knew Levi's next class was. I saw him approaching the classroom, smiling at his feet.

"Levi!" I yelled at him. He looked up, and once he saw me, he started jogging up to me. Before I could say anything else, he was hugging me.

"Can you believe it?! We made it! We have a shot at this! Unbelievable!" He exclaimed. He was really happy.

"I can't wait for the next photo challenges. Can you?" He held me up off my feet, waiting for my response.

"Uh... Great. Can you... Put me down now?"

"Oh! Sorry! Got carried away there." He put me down and kept up his smile.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me.

"Oh... I... Just wanted to congratulate you." I smiled at him.

"Thanks. Anyway, got to get to class. See yah!"

"Yeah. See you." He went inside his classroom and I found myself beaten. I sighed.

"Again?" I turned to see Zane. Again.

"Ah. Sorry." I moved out of his way this time. He went in front of the door and looked at me.

"You got in, huh?"

"Yep."

"Levi's model?"

"Yeah."

"Is it such a bad thing?"

"I don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

"Don't think too much about it. You'll be fine." He smiled at me then went inside. That was nice... In a weird way...

I was still holding the posterI took off the door. I decided to put it back up.

Once I got there, I put the poster back up with some double sided tape and looked at it for a while. Levi took a good picture. I looked at the other photos and I saw Nicki and Koko's picture. Nicki was smiling at the camera while Koko was glaring at it. She still looked nice anyway. Their pictures were under Sophomores. I noticed that there were 4 pictures under each year level. 2 for girls and 2 for boys.

They were really good looking.

Freshmen:

Jennifer Connick

Zane Matthews

Cooper Anderson

No way! No wonder Jennifer was giving me the death glare. She thinks i'm competition!

"Hello." I turned to see Koko.

"Ah. Hi Koko."

"What are you doing here?"

"Just looking around."

"No classes?"

"Oh. Yeah. I should probably get going before i'm late. Bye!"

"Bye." We waved at each other and I left.
