CHAPTER 14: FEELINGS

We've been walking for two hours. I didn't know my house was this far from Jennifer's place. I still don't get why Zane's walking with me. He said he had something to say but he's not saying anything yet. Well, he did say he wanted to walk home with me. No. Not to my home. He said his place is in the same way.

I looked to my right. He's just looking straight ahead. This is really awkward. I looked above me. The moon was so bright tonight. I like how it illuminates throughout the whole street. It makes everything look so beautiful. I start to smile. I look to my left. All these houses have numbers on them. I think my grandparents are the only people that stayed here ever since they were kids. It gives things a more homey feel. There are street lights by every house. I don't think there's a blind spot in sight. I look behind me. Nobody's following us. Good. I usually get that feeling someone's going to jump out at me any second at night but usually I only get that feeling when I'm walking home with someone. I looked back at Zane. He was looking at me now.

"So... What did you want to talk about?" I asked him. He looked away from me and scratched his head. "Why didn't you stop me earlier?" He asked me.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, my hand was moving up your thigh and you didn't tell me to stop."

"So?"

"You weren't wearing pants!"

"It's not really that big of a deal. It's not like you were going to go all the way up or anything." I looked to see his expression. His face was in the dark. I guess there are blind spots.

"Yeah. I wasn't."

"It was just for a photo shoot anyway."

"Yeah. Well, that's all I wanted to say."

"Alright."

"I'll be going now." He turned around and started walking away.

"Hey! Where are you going?"

"Home."

"I thought you said your place was in the same direction."

"I only said that so you'd let me walk with you. You turn down everyone all the time."

"Well I have my reasons."

"Sure. See ya."

As he walked away, I wondered what my reason really was. It is strange that I wouldn't want a guy to walk me home at night to make sure I get home in one piece. But I am not really into that girly stuff, I guess.

When I got up the next day, clothes were already placed neatly on my desk. After my shower, I put on my plain white loose skull shirt and my high waisted galaxy shorts.

I put a silver leaf pin on the left side of my hair and wore my black wedged boots. I have to say my grandma's got style.

Both of my grandparents were seated at the dining table when I came down.

"Good morning grandma! Grandpa! What's for breakfast?"

"Just toast sweetie. I forgot to go grocery shopping yesterday." My grandma replied.

"That's alright grandma. Do you want me to get groceries after school?"

"That would be lovely sweetheart."
