CHAPTER 10: SETTLE

I'm back with the Music Club. Everyone kept congratulating Zane, Cooper, and I. I was so not used to this.

"Alright! Lets cut down to it. Who plans on joining the talent pool?" Ron asked us. No one raised their hand.
"Come on. Anybody?" He asked again. Still, no one.
"Justin, you're not going to join?" Kim asked him.
"No. I don't feel like it." He slid down in his chair.
"Well, this is boring." Kim remarked. She wasn't smiling.
"Lets form a band." Cooper suggested.
"A band?" Ron questioned.
"Since nobody wants to perform alone, lets just form a band."
"That's a good idea." Zane commented.
"That's a wonderful idea! Nice job Cooper." Kim said.
"Thanks." Cooper gave off a big smile.
"Okay. We're going with a band then. I guess you already have an idea for who does what?" Ron asked Cooper.
"Yeah. Josephine's on the drums. I'll be on the guitar. Or the violin. And the two main singers would be Rochelle and Zane. Levi would be back up and he could help come up with ideas for songs."
"Alright. Is everyone okay with that?" No one responded. Though I didn't really want to be one of the lead singers.
"Um... Can I be back up instead?" Zane asked.
"Why don't you want to be the lead?" Ron asked him back.
"I just can't..." Zane looked into Ron's eyes, making sure he got the message.
"Alright. You're back up. Levi's one of the leads now."
"Are you sure about that? I don't have much experience." Levi asked nervously.
"You can handle it. You have Rochelle to back you up."
"If she ever feels like backing me up."
He commented. I rolled my eyes.
"Hey come on guys. We have to get along here." Ron said.
"Hold on." Justin said. He got up and went in front. He grabbed a piece of chalk and wrote down Cooper's name.

"Does anyone have a problem with Cooper?" No one raised their hand.

He then wrote down Josephine's, Kim's, and his name.

"Any problem with anyone else's name on the board?" No one raised their hand.

He wrote down the rest of the member's names.

"Who has a problem with Levi?" I raised my hand.
"Okay. How about Zane?" I had second thoughts about raising my hand, but I did anyway.
"Alright. Who has problems with Rochelle?" Zane and Levi raised their hands.
"Really?" I commented.
"Okay. You three, form a circle and talk it out. We'll be leaving. Come on guys!" He grabbed his things and left. Everyone else followed. We were left alone.

"I don't have to do this." Zane got up and headed for the door, which was locked.
"You've got to be kidding me!"
"I'm not kidding you." Justin said from the other side of the door.
"Zane, lets just talk this out already. So we can go home. You're on my side anyway, right?" Zane looked at Levi and sat back down next to him.
"Alright. See, Rochelle, you scare me. I don't know when you're really mad or actually happy. I don't feel like I can trust you as a friend. You feel me?" Levi told me. I started to laugh.
"Scary? Me?"
"Yeah. How's that funny?"
"Haha. I've gotten weird, abnormal, but never scary!" I started to laugh a little more.
"Well? Are you alright with me?" He asked.
"You're an okay guy Levi. I just still can't believe you took a picture of me. Out of all the shots that were taken, mine was the only stolen one."
"It adds an effect, don't you think?"
"Sure Levi. Whatever you say."
"So... Friends?"
"Friends." We shook hands.
"Go ahead Zane." Levi told him. Zane sighed.
"I just think you're weird." Zane said.
"Of course that's what you'd say." I rolled my eyes again.
"Now what's your problem with me?" Zane asked.
"I just think you're weird." I copied Zane's voice.
"Be honest now."
"Well..." I looked at him for a while.
"What?"
"You just... Confuse me." I leaned back in my chair.
"That's all."
"How about me? Just the picture thing?" Levi asked me.
"Yeah. Pretty much."
"Hold on. Why-?" Before Zane could finish what he was about to say, Justin opened the door.
"I think that was enough time. Rochelle!" I stood up straight.
"Yes!" Justin laughed.
"Someone's here to pick you up." I scratched my head. Who could it be?

"Hi Rochelle!" Tommy popped his head inside the classroom.
"Tommy?"
"Come on! There's a meeting at the photo club!" He came inside and grabbed my hand.
"What? Wait!" He didn't listen. He just dragged me out of the room.
"The room's right around the corner." He said.
"I know. You can let go now." I told him.
"Oh. It's alright. Don't want you ditching me." He replied.
"Why would I ditch you?" I asked him. He stopped walking upon hearing this.
"Uh... Well... It was meant to be a joke really."
"So I don't have a reason to ditch you then?"
"I guess... Man, you're straight forward." He started to look down at his shoes. That's when Levi came in between us and took my hand away from Tommy.
"I need to go to this meeting too. I am the one who took your picture." He started dragging me to the room.
"Hold on now!" Tommy started jogging up after us. By the time he did catch up, we had already made it to the room. I pulled my hand away from Levi's.

"Glad you guys could make it! Take a seat!" A guy said as we entered the room. Once we took our seats, I asked Levi who he was.
"Oh. That's Eric Quint. Head of the photography club."
"Ah." Just then, Zane and Justin came in.
"Sorry we're late."
"No worries. You guys aren't the only ones." Eric looked over at us after saying that.
"Now, pick a piece of paper out of this jar." He passed the jar around. As we picked a piece of paper, I noticed that Nicki, Koko, Cooper and Jennifer were here.

"Now, let's start off with... Rochelle! Who did you get?" I opened up the piece of paper I had and read it out loud.
"Zane?!" I said, shocked. Jennifer once again glared at me while Zane was just wide eyed.
"Is there a problem Rochelle?" Eric asked me.
"Uh. No. I'm fine. Just surprised. Sorry."
"Okay." Everyone else said their partners. I just got off my train of thought for a while.
"Photoshoot's tomorrow. Dismissed!" I shook my head and looked around.
"You lost?" Levi asked me.
"Uh..."
"You weren't listening, were you?"
"Nope." He sighed.
"I'll tell you on the way home."
"On the way home?"
"Yeah. You can ride at the back of my bike."
"I can just walk."
"I'm not taking no for an answer."
"Whatever." I got up and went out before him.

He eventually caught up to me. On his bike.

"Get on."
"No."
"Why not?"
"I'm fine with walking. I need the exercise."
"Fine. I'll just keep up with your pace."
"Fine." And he did stay in pace with me.
"So... What did Eric say?"
"Yeah. That. Well, you're paired with Zayn and he just has to support you in your photo shoot. You still have to look like the star in the photo. We have to tell him what the concept that we're going for is."
"What are we going with?"
"I don't know. We can work with whatever clothing you have."
"Oh..."
"Can you show me some of your clothes once we get to your house?"
"No!"
"Alright! Calm down!"
"Can't you just think of a concept? Any random concept?"
"Well, do you have a big shirt?"
"How big of a shirt?"
"Big enough that if you were wearing shorts, it'd cover it making you look like you're not wearing anything besides a shirt."
"Uh... I think I have one. What concept are you thinking of?"
"You'll see. Just bring that tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay."
"Well, see ya!"
"Bye!"

He left fast on his bike and I was left to walk home alone.
