After me and Zach actually use the shower for its intended purpose and get clean we climb into bed and spend quite a bit of time just talking before finally falling asleep in each other's arms.

When I wake up the next morning Zach is still asleep, I grab some clothes; tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt and head downstairs.

"Mum?" I question surprised she's up.

"Hey Tom," she smiles.

"You're up early," I say grabbing some bread from the bread bin and some bacon from the fridge.

"It's after noon," she says eyeing me.

"Shit really?" I say feeling my pockets for my phone but I must have left it upstairs, I check the microwave 12:34.

"Yes really, Zach still here?" Mum says eyeing the fact that I have four pieces of bread out and eight rashers of bacon.

"Yes.... Is that ok?" I ask suddenly nervous of that fact she may have walked into my room last night.

"Of course darling, he seems like a nice guy." She says sipping her tea.

"So what happened after we left?" I ask sticking the bacon under the grill.

"Well Chris and Ryan left about half an hour later - wanted to come pick Zach up actually but I told them not to worry. Erm...." She says and stops suddenly like she's not sure it's worth telling me.

"What happened mum? You know Sophie will tell me." I say buttering the bread and making two cups of tea.

"Well you know Sandra...." Mum trails off.

"Let me guess, she loved Ben?" I say sarcastically.

"Well no, but the thing is Ben is actually really lovely and if Sophie wasn't serious about him last night she definitely is now, he refused to let Sandra have the last word, it was rather amusing actually." Mum said laughing.

"She's your best friend mum," I say confused.

"I know darling that's why I can laugh about it. I'm not going to lie it would be wonderful if you and Sophie got together but Ben seems nice and there's no harm in dating before you settle down is there?" Mum says shrugging.

"Sandra doesn't like Zach and his parents does she?" I ask finally assembling the bacon sandwiches.

"I - ahh- I think she was just shocked is all, it's my fault for not telling her anyway but I guess I wasn't sure how she'd take it but I won't fight her on this, Zach's your friend Tom and gay or not he's welcome in this house."

"I - well thanks mum," I say and finally I leave the kitchen with two cups of tea and two bacon sandwiches it's only when I'm opening my bedroom door that I realise how domesticated me making breakfast for me and Zach must have looked to mum.
