The memories

( not doing hours anymore-it's annoying me. Also, kon'nichiwa! I'm back now! This chapter's going to be different, okay? )

And the memories came flooding back...

"Hey, Lady Nightmare!"
"Lucifer, what're you doing here?"
"You know I'm not leaving without you.."
"Lucifer, this is my fault. I'm supposed to take responsibility for all this."
"I know, but I am your guard. I have to stay or else I'll be fired.. hehe.."
"I have lots of guards Lucifer, but you're the only one here. Why do you care so much? I've lost everything, I failed my people, I don't deserve to still be here. Why are you still here..?"
"I thought I lost everything too, a long time ago. Everyone either left, died or left because someone died. I did too. And I died. And I came back, newer, stronger, here. You did too. You're the Queen of the Shadow Realm. You'll make the right decision. I know you will."
"Lucif-"
"Shadai, let me finish. You're strong, brave, beautiful and a good leader. Don't tell me that you're not."
"But it's the truth."
"No, it's not."
"I'm not brave or strong or anything like that, Lucifer. When, may I ask, have I ever been like that?"
"You never wanted to be queen, but you accepted and you lead your people, showing how brave you are, because if you are not doing it for you, you're doing it for them. And that's something not everyone can say they've done, you know?"
"Lucifer, stop.."
"No! Even when your kingdom was-well, it still is-falling apart, you made decisions. Not all of them were good ones, but you made it work."
"Lucifer, please! Don't you understand? I can't go with you! Save yourself..!"
"Lady N-"
"P-please go away... Go n-now... JUST GO! P-please..."
"Heh, you're even stupider than I thought if you think I'm leaving without you."
"Please just go, Lucifer. Save yourself before I hurt someone... Before I hurt you."
"N-no! I won't go! I won't leave you here! I can't.. I won't! Please.. If you won't go with me, let me stay with you..!"
"J-JUST... GO NOW WHILE YOU-"
"Lady.. Nightmare..? What..? Who're you?! What are you doing with me?!"

A white haired man grabbed him from behind, dragging him away from the nightmare. Away from the shadow queen. He was thrashing and screaming for help, but the white haired man, me, I dragged him away from her. It was for the best.
I couldn't let him remember any of this. He will remember his life before, and he will remember the knowledge of the Shadow Realm, but he will not remember ever existing there. I will become his brother for the time being. The brother who he used to know.. Craig was it..?
He will remember moving out of town with me and moving to woods. Being the grandson of the bush warbler. Living a normal life until he sees her again. Until then, he won't remember dying.
When he finds out the truth.. Learns he will die, his memories will come back and he will become even more broken than he already is. I have sympathy for him. He had to give up the one he loved twice. He will have to die twice, but this time, he won't be sent back to the Shadow Realm.
Once you leave, you can never go back, unless you are the Queen of course. But that place hasn't had a queen in so long, it has probably lost all pride. Now the Shada are one of the lowest class races out there. Then there's me.
I never wanted to adopt him. But I had to follow orders and I knew it was for the best. If I didn't save him from himself, he would've been dead.. Long ago. I'm glad I was able to save him, though. He plays a big part in this story. He just doesn't know.

He remembered everything when Tristan told him the truth. I didn't want to tell him. After all the years we spent together, I hate to admit it but, he had grown on me.
He remembered his role as Lady Nightmare's guard. His death and his some-what off transportation to the Shadow Realm. He remembered all the lies I told him. How I dragged him away and erased and tampered with his memories.

I wouldn't be surprised if he felt angry.

He understood that there is more to what's going on than anyone else around here.

And I'd be surprised if he didn't keep it all bottled up until the very end. He always did that, whether in his first, second or third life.

However, this will be his last life. He won't be able to exist in any other realm... Not unless...

You know what?

They can figure it out themselves...
