I begin getting ready as I place the phone to my ear, calling Zoe. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her. She's the one who helped me through the actual breakup. I originally wasn't going to break up with Sam, but after a long talk with Zoe, I realized how much I deserve that he had never given me.
Zoe helped me find the article on this place on Craig's List- and if I'm honest, I completely thought it was four girls who lived here. We both did. The explanation of the layout apartment just seemed so well written, with tons of gorgeous adjectives. Ashton made it seem like I was going to walk into a Better Homes & Gardens magazine.
"Liv, how's the break up going? I haven't heard from you in forever.. and the copy of Spotless Mind is missing off my shelf." I can her plop down on her bed with a sigh. We each have signs of distress; mine is complete isolation and the fascination with a heartbreaking romance movie.
Zoe's signs are a sudden life change due to 'deep enlightenment of self-actualization' and endless shopping sprees.
I smile wide when I hear her voice, "The break up is going absolutely terrible! I can't stop crying!" I rush out quickly and cheerfully, "But, my roommates are taking me out, and I want you to come also." I say, hoping for the best. Zoe isn't usually one for going out since she has long shoots with early hours.
"That actually sounds really fun. I haven't had a girl's night out in a while. I'll go." I could hear her smile through the phone as my stomach drops.
Shit! I can't believe I forgot to tell her that I am currently living with four random guys.
I force out a laugh, "Yeah, I'll see you then.. and hurry I need help getting ready." I say before hanging up quickly and opening my closet.
Zoe POV
Once I got ready in a skin-tight black dress, I followed the address I was given. I wanted Olivia to move in with me, but she said she didn't want to live in an apartment with a bunch of models. I always tried to get my two worlds combined, but they just didn't match. Olivia really didn't have anything in common with them, but I knew she tried for me. She's good like that.
But, if I'm completely honest, I didn't want her to move in with roommates. I was scared and horrified she'd forget me for the new girls she moved in with. Maybe she'd think it's easier to get along with them than with the people in my world.
I was thrilled when she called me to come out with them. I guess I was wrong about my worries after all.
I pull up to the old dirty building before walking into the lobby and pressing the number seven once I got into the elevator. The cranking the box was making gave me the feeling that I thought I was going to die. Like at any moment, this piece of shit tin can would snap from the wire and drop. Normally I would've run out of there just from the sight of the building and never looked back, but this is Olivia.
We've been together through thick and thin. She would do anything for me, so a hopefully short ride in a timely elevator was nothing.
I quickly go out of the box and spring into action, trying to find number 93. The carpet looked like it had been a lighter color than dark grey at one point.
Once I look eyes with the correct door, I take a deep breath and knock on the red-painted wood.
Come on, Zoe, you can be nice to other girls who might get closer to your best friend than you are. Do it for Olivia.
My motivational thoughts were quickly interrupted by the door opening to four guys. All handsome guys, but definitely was at the wrong location. How embarrassing.
"Oh- I'm sorry," I say, confused after I had taken a good look at them.
One of them, with a bandana on, smirks and holds his hand out for me, "Hi, I'm Ashton."
I scoff and turn down his handshake, "Good for you, Ashton, but I'm looking for my friend Olivia, but I think I'm in the wrong building." I say as I begin to turn to walk back to the death trap.
"No, you've got the right place." He starts; I quickly stop moving and look back at him, waiting for an explanation.
"Olivia lives here, and she's our new roommate." One of them says with a hint of nerves in the back of his throat as I continue to look at them.
"Oh hell no," I say, crossing my arms.
Ashton POV
Zoe has been in our apartment for at least fifteen minutes with us just staring at her. She went to go help Olivia, but she kicked her out of her room after a minute.
She sat across from us in the living room, just staring at this beautiful woman in front of us. I swear, at one point I started drooling.
"So uh.. you're a model, right?" Michael asks sheepishly.
Zoe sighs and leans back in her chair, "Yes, for the sixth time, I'm a model." she says, crossing her arms, inadvertently pushing her tits up, making all our eyes move to her chest.
Once she realizes, she scoffs and stands up, "Listen dickwads, Olivia is the most caring person I know, and if any of you do anything to hurt her, I swear to god I'll kill you all one by one and make the rest of you watch." she says clearly.
Once her speech is over, she begins smirking and points at me, "and I'd start with you." she states before walking to Olivia's room again.
I watched her hips as she walked away, and I could feel my heart explode. I think I'm I love.
"Wow, even when threatening my life, all I could think about was sleeping with her," I say with a small chuckle as I cross my arms.
Luke groans, "Jar." he states and points, motioning for me to place cash in the douchebag jar.
