Tiana's POV
My morning was the same as every other morning. I sat outside, drinking coffee, waiting for Grace and Miley to come and join me. The wind blew gently, causing the leaves to rustle. The sun glimmered behind the lightly clouded sky. It seemed as though everything was perfect.
"Morning, love." Miley greeted me. She seemed extra happy.
"Aye," I raised my cup.
"So, I've decided to have a birthday party for my 18th birthday coming up." She glowed. I almost forgot that Miley's birthday was on Friday. I had two days to get her a present.
"This is really short notice, but I will be there." I hugged her.
"I just made up my mind five minutes ago," she laughed, "But it's going to be at my uncle's club on Friday."
"Your uncle would let you book it this soon?" I asked incredulously. Miley and her uncle had a very strong relationship. They were like best friends, even better than us.
"Of course! You know he'd do anything for me." She scoffed. She started to text someone on her phone. I peered over shoulder. She sent a quick text to her uncle asking for the club on Friday.
"Well, how are you going to the word out?"
"The Instigators, of course." She smirked.
At least I had plans for Friday night now.
Grace arrived and sat with us, joining the conversation.
"Party on Friday at my uncle's club. All the details will be on the site later." Miley immediately told her.
Grace said something, but I didn't hear it because trumpets suddenly started to blast a melody in the air. Two guys I recognized from the basketball team appeared holding red and pink heart-shaped balloons.
"What is going on?" I asked loudly over the trumpets.
"Look," Grace pointed ahead of me. I turned to see Tario walking through the crowd holding a giant card. It was about the size of his torso.
"Tiana Ross," he opened the card, "Will you go to prom with me?"
I gasped, covering my mouth. I couldn't believe what was right in front of me. The trumpets stopped playing. I found the words to answer.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" I giggled, hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms around my waist and spun me. I lifted my head off his shoulder to kiss him. The crowd around us started to clap.
This was like a dream come true. My perfect guy and boyfriend asked me to prom. Lots of people were snapping pictures and recording, but we only posed for Miley and Grace.
"I love you, Tiana." He whispered against my lips so only I could hear.
"I love you so much more." I replied.
"Not even possible." His eyes sparkled. Every time I looked into them, I fell a little more in love with him.
The crowd dispersed and everyone went back to whatever they were doing before.
"That was so heart-warming!" Miley dabbed under her eye. She'd always been a hopeless romantic.
"It gets better. We're a couple. We have been for about 8 hours now." I smiled, patting Tario's chest.
"This is my girl." He kissed my cheek proudly.
"As adorable as that is, please go make out in private." Grace faked a gag.
"Don't hate, appreciate." I rolled my eyes at her.
"She's jealous." Tario said.
"But I would like to thank you." I faced him and started to play with his shirt buttons flirtatiously.
