Tiana's POV
The last thing I remembered was passing out in Tario's car. I'm not sure what happened before that or in between.
My vision was blurry at first when I awoke, but it quickly cleared. My mother was holding my hand and praying while my dad snored in the chair next to me. Where was I?
"Mom?" I asked, rubbing my eyes with my free hand.
"Tiana!" she beamed, kissing my forehead repeatedly. What was going on?
"What happened?" I sat up straighter and took in my surroundings. I was in a hospital, but why?
"You had an allergic reaction to lemons. Your throat swelled and you passed out from lack of oxygen." She explained.
Sylvia burst into the room with a little girl trailing behind her. The two were giggling and sharing a pack of Skittles.
My dad woke up from their loud noises. She hopped onto his lap when she realized he was awake.
"Guys, meet my new friend. Her name is Rosy. I finally have a new best friend since Lucas died." She said. My heart stopped from the mention of his name. The summer Lucas died was the saddest summer ever. He died in July and Miley locked herself in her room until school started up in August.
Lucas and my sister were best friends, just like Miley and I. The two were inseparable. I always thought they would get married when they got older, but now he's gone.
Grace was gone when Lucas died. She and her family had taken a month long vacation to Europe.
"I didn't know my allergic reactions would be this bad." I turned back to Mom.
"Ah, you're up. How are you feeling?" my dad ignored Sylvia and gave his attention to me. A jealous look crossed her face.
"I'm fine and it's nice to meet you Rosy." I smiled in her direction. She waved back at me and smiled, revealing some missing teeth. They were so cute and young at that age.
"The doc says we can take you home any time." He stretched his back.
"I guess I'm ready to go." I laughed lightly. I hadn't been to the hospital as a patient before.
"We'll go check you out." My mom got up and walked outside the room.
"I thought you were dead." Sylvia crossed her arms. Maybe she wanted me to be dead.
"I was just asleep." I lied. She was too young to understand.
I looked around and noticed a clock hanging above the door to the bathroom. The time read 7:06. Was it morning or evening? Judging by the sun set outside the window, it was evening. How long had I been out?
My mom came back and told us we were good to leave. I was already wearing clothes under my scrubs. I mustn't have been there too long then.
Sylvia hugged her friend after exchanging phone numbers. They both looked sad to be parting.
Hopefully they'd meet again.

Grace's POV
After the doctors kicked us out because visiting hours had ended and we weren't immediate family, Tario and I went to straight to Tiana's house. I had a key to her house. We'd been there for about an hour. I was in her room admiring everything. Tario was playing on his phone in the living room.
I noticed the hole she'd told us about a while ago. I wondered when she'd get it fixed.
I kneeled on the floor to look through the books aligned on the shelf. The spine of a book Tiana, Miley, and I used to read when we were younger caught my eye. It brought back so many happy memories.
