Miley's POV

Colorful lights and loud music filled the limo. We were all dancing and singing along to the songs.

I was surprised to find Grace on Rico's arm. It was a bit ironic since I had a small crush on him. I guess it was a small world.

The limo came to a stop outside of our already packed high school. We were right on time and it was already crowded.

Everyone looked gorgeous! I was amazed at how good everyone could clean up.

The limo driver opened the door for us. Tario got our first and then extended his hand for Tiana. Kendall did the same for me. Rico caught the flow and did it for Grace.

We weren't the only ones arriving in limos. About three more were parked behind us. One carried Carrie and Jack. The looked bold and made a wonderful couple.  What Beth would think of them?

We entered the school gym after getting our pictures taken. The DJ was great. Everyone attending was hyped including us. But then we heard the song scratch and the music suddenly cut off. We all looked at each other on confusion.

"What's going on?" I whispered to Kendall.

"Looks like Carrie is up to something." He pointed to her walking up the stage, holding a microphone.

"Why would she do this on this night?" Tiana frowned. I was upset too. I came to have a good time with my friends, not encounter petty drama

"Hello, everyone! As you all may know, Beth is a bit of a hoe. I recently found out that she has AIDS. I thought you all should know so you'll keep it in your pants around her. Thanks and have fun!" Carrie smiled deviantly and casually walked off the stage.

Everyone turned and pointed at Beth, laughing and taunting her. Her face became bright red and she quickly scurried away without saying a word.

Prom night is one of the best nights of your life and no one should ever ruin it for you.

A feeing of guilt settled inside of me. We kind of started all this. Then, I thought of what my mother told me yesterday. I had to tell the girls.

"Guys, can we go somewhere private? I need to talk to you guys." I said to Tiana and Grace.

They nodded and followed me. We walked to a quiet classroom that was unlocked. I closed the door behind us.

"My mother has been a bit absent lately. And this is really hard to say, but she-she killed my dad." I said in a strained voice.

They both looked shocked, their eyes popping out their heads.

Would they treat me differently now?

***
Tiana's POV

Miley's news was hard to swallow. Her mother was so angelic. I would never picture her as a murderer.

But then again, I was the root of the situation. I ruined their family.

"Miley, this is my fault." I whispered.

"What, no!" She shook her head.

"It all started last year at the end of year party," I started.

I watched as Tyler took another swig of beer and groped the redhead he was dancing next to. I couldn't watch anymore. I stormed over.

"Tyler," I kissed his cheek. The redhead walked away, I smirked, but noticed that Tyler was frowning.

"What's wrong with you? We were just talking." He shook me off.
