Miley's POV

The manila file lay on my stomach as I stared up at the ceiling. I spent the whole night thinking about possible situations. When I tried to sleep, I dreamt about it and woke up panting. I didn't want to believe the truth. I didn't want to face it.

Grace was so innocent. My mind just couldn't wrap around the fact that she lied to us for almost a year. I didn't care so much that she had an abortion. I just cared that she hid it from us. It made me feel like she didn't trust us, and we told Grace things that no one else knew.

Maybe it belongs to another Grace Bryant, I thought

But, I knew better. There was only one way to find out. I picked up my cell phone and dialed the clinic's number. I needed answers and I couldn't ask Grace for them.

"Hello, Smart Future Abortion Clinic. How may I help you?" A lady with a squeaky voice answered. My heart thumped in my chest. This was my first time impersonating someone to get information. I felt a bit guilty, but I had to do it.

"Hi, this is Grace Bryant. I had an abortion there last summer. I was wondering if you still had my file." I said in the best impression of Grace I could make. My voice was a bit shaky. My hands were getting sweaty and I felt my heart speed up.

"Oh yes. I'll pull it up right now." I heard quick typing. "Is there anything specific that you're looking for?"

"Ah yes. Was it a boy or girl and who's the father?" I asked. Those were my main questions.

"It was a baby girl and you refused to tell us who the father was. Wouldn't you remember this kind of information?" the lady asked suspiciously.

"I have to go now. Bye!" I quickly hung up and tried to regulate my breathing.

I had to find out who the father was. Why would she hide something like this from Tiana and I? But most importantly, why wouldn't she give up the father? Who was he?

My stomach growled with hunger, so I went downstairs to find a snack in the kitchen. There wasn't much in the fridge, or really there wasn't much that I enjoyed. I opened the pantry and stared in for the longest time before deciding on a bag of Goldfish.

I threw a handful in my mouth and greedily chewed on them. I sat silently munching on my mid-day snack.

My mother had been absent a lot recently. She didn't tell me where she went and didn't even bother to say goodbye when she left. I missed her, but I assumed that my dad's last return was stressing her out.

A text from Kendall appeared on my screen.

Kendall: Date? Me and you, rn? Xx

Me: omw over!

Just then, an idea popped into my head.

And I needed Kendall to help me with it.

Tiana's POV

Tario's gorgeous eyes sparkled as usual. I felt myself getting lost in them as he spoke.

"Keep looking at me like that and I'll take you right here." He said in a low voice so that only I could hear. We were eating lunch at a local Japanese restaurant. We didn't plan this. He just showed up at my doorstep and asked me to join him for lunch. When I saw him pull up, my heart smiled. My whole perked up just from the sight of him.

"I love you so much that I can't help but stare at you." I admitted. I didn't feel cautious about opening up to him about my feelings anymore. I don't know why I didn't let Tario take me out sooner. I guess I was just too concerned about getting hurt. The thought didn't cross my mind anymore. Tario had the power to kill me, but I trusted him not to. Isn't that what love is?
