Al's POV
It's been three days since Ed had woken up, which meant today he could leave the hospital. To be honest, I didn't want Brother to come back home, where he could easily walk out the door. Especially with his memory loss. I looked at Brother as he stared at his milk.

"Brother, you have to drink it." I said softly. He quickly shook his head.

"No way! It looks gross." He mumbled, pouting. I sighed.

"Honestly, your such a child Ed..." I replied, as he continued eating the food a nurse brought in for him.

"Hey Alphonse?" Ed suddenly asked, making me lift my head up.

"Yeah?"

"Is the Colonel gonna drop by and visit before they discharge me?" I looked at him, and laughed quietly. Before brother lost his memories, I remember him telling me that he had a crush on Colonel Mustang, and had a temper tantrum when I told him to just tell the Colonel how he feels. He just growled in frustration and said,

"No way Al! He'll not only shot me down, but he'll humiliate me, and it'll just be plain awkward! I'd rather let him tease me about my height before that happens...."

"I don't know brother. The Colonel said he has a lot of paper work to do, but he'd try. Let's just give him one more hour okay?" I replied, making Ed nod.

Ed's POV
As Al and I sat, we talked about random things. I sighed quietly. Al had been talking about a time when we were little. I wish I remembered it. Then, it made me ask a sudden question. "Hey Al, what was I like before...all this?" I guess the question surprised him, and caught him off guard. He seemed to jump, and let out a noise of shock.

"W-Well....-" "You were very short tempered, strong willed, thick headed, brave, and did I mention short?" Al and I both looked at the new voice, and saw the Colonel standing there. He just smiled and waved at me a bit.

"Hey, feeling better Fullmetal?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. I'm getting discharged soon actually." I replied, blinking slightly. Colonel Mustang seemed....off. It was weird. He smiled again and nodded. That's when it hit me.

His smiles were fake.
