18: Back at the shrine

Quick A/N before the chapter starts!
I am actually so hyped to write this book right now, I got a really good idea for it :D

It was quiet soon in the morning when I woke up. I looked sleeply around in the room when a sudden realization hit me.

"Right...today I'll go back to the shrine!". Pumped with a lot of energy, I jumped out of the bed and changed my clothes. I wore a (f/c), short kimono with little flowers on it. With a smile on my face I packed my things together in a bag, until a knock on my door interupted me. I looked at the door and answered a loud "come in". And of course, my beautiful familiar entered. I walked over to him and kissed him on the cheek, handing him my bag.

"And that's for you", I said with a grin on my lips. Tomoe's face got blank.

"Be happy that I am your familiar", he replied, making me chuckle. I than grabbed his hand and we both left the hospital and started walking to the shrine.

"How are you feeling?", asked Tomoe after we walked a few minuites. I smiled at him.

"Amazing! Everything's fine~"

"Even if you feel so amazing, you'll rest at the shrine as well. I let Nanami and Mizuki do your work. We have to watch out for your health...and your mark.", said Tomoe with a worried look. I noded at him, giving his hand a reashuring squezze.

"But don't worry too much, okay?". Tomoe noded too and smiled at me. And before I knew it, we arrived at the hill on wich the shrine was. I sighed deeply.

"I don't wanna go up there". Tomoe looked at me and smirked slightly, than he picked me up in bride style and carried me up. It was amazing how strong he was. When we were up, he was a little bit exhausted though.

"So, here we are", he announced and placed me on the ground. Seconds after, Nanami ran up to me and jumped at me, almost making me fall, and hugging me to death.

"(Y/N)-san you are finally here!", she said while happy tears ran down her face. I smiled at her and hugged her back.

After (Y/N) met Nanami again, she went together with her and Tomoe to the shrine. There, they all ate a delicious meal that Tomoe prepared for all of them. After that, they all normaly had to do their work at the shrine. And they all did that, except (Y/N). Even if she wanted to help, Tomoe wouldn't let her. He gave Nanami and Mizuki the work of his mistress to do while she was relaxing at the back yard of the shrine. She simply sat under a tree and enjoyed the silence and the calmness of the wind. Sometimes she heard whining from Mizuki and yelling from Tomoe, but she simply chuckled at that.

'I really have to make them become friends' ,she thought and closed her eyes, smiling. (Y/N) listened to the sound of the wind and some birds that were chirping.
But suddenly, she heard footsteps.
At first, she thought that Nanami or Mizuki entered the back yard because they had to do her work, after all. But than, she heard them coming closer to her. She opened her eye that wasn't damaged and looked up. A man with black, short hair and red eyes in a black outfit stood in front of her and looked down at her, smirking wide.(Y/N) yelped in surprise and jerked back, hitting her head against the tree. Her eyes squeezed shut for a second but instantly opened again, only to see that the man was gone. She took a deep breath and looked around, scanning the area to see if he was still around.

'W-who the hell was that...?'

She touched her covered eye and took a deep breath.

'I...guess it was just my imagination'
She thought and tried to relax again. Yet, that man who she saw left an uneasy feeling inside her. She stood up and went back to the shrine to rest in her bedroom. She lied down on her futon and sighed, closing her eyes and trying to relax again.

'I would feel much better if Tomoe would lie here with me...'

And as if Tomoe read her thoughts, he suddenly entered her room. (Y/N) looked at him and a smile appeared on her lips.

"Oh, so here you are", he said and walked in, closing the door behind him.

"Can I relax a little bit with you?", he asked with a smirk on his lips. That caused (Y/N) to blush, but she still allowed him to. The yokai lied down to her and wrapped his arms around her. (Y/N) snuggled up to his chest and smiled.

"That's much better", she mumbled and closed her eye, the warm embrace of Tomoe making her relax and slowly make her fall asleep.

"Tired?", her familiar asked. She simply noded as a reply and Tomoe stroked her hair.

"Than rest, my princess", he said and chuckled, making his mistress chuckle as well. She than slowly fell asleep in the arms of her lover.

"This sight annoys me", mumbled a man who watched the two yokai from a window. He slowly walked away from it and went into the woods, hands in his pocket.

"I wonder if they still remember...I wonder if she loves me as well...", he mumbled and leaned against a tree, looking up to the sky. A smirk appeared on his lips.

"See you soon, Tomoe, (Y/N)~"
