Chapter 7 ☆

C H A P T E R 7 ☆

"I just don't know what to do. He has been very emotional lately because he can't control his anger anymore." I told Maria as we sat on the couch next to each other.

She nodded her head in understanding.

"I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should have him take some pills for it." She told me making me look at her with wide eyes.

"You really think he's gonna take them?" I questioned her.

She shrugged her shoulders.

"Maybe. Don't just lay it on him though. Give him time to think about it and process it." She stated making me nod my head in agreement.

"You're right." I replied back to her.

While Maria was here we talked about my baby shower a little bit. I've decided to have it when I'm seven months pregnant and showing a lot. We plan on inviting some of our old friends that we haven't spoken to since we left my mom's house. Only a few people know about me being pregnant and so it's gonna be a surprise to a lot of people.

We continued talking for a few minutes before I heard the front door open.

"That must be him now." I mumbled lowly.

We heard him set his keys on the kitchen counter before coming into the living room.

"I can't wait to start planning this baby shower because I've got a lot of connects and I already know it's gonna be amazing!" She exclaimed making me smile big.

"Looks like you are the perfect person to host this." I replied back to her making her chuckle.

Dacian sighed before coming over to us.

"I had a very long day at work.." He mumbled loosening up his tie.

He leaned down and kissed me on the lips.

"Hey baby." He mumbled against my lips before pulling back.

"Hi." I said with a sweet smile.

Seeing him always brightens my day. ☺️

"Hey Maria." He said giving her a head nod.

She smiled at him with her dark red lipstick on.

I don't like the way she looks at him. There's something about it that makes me get an uneasy feeling.

"Hey Dacian, I think it's time for me to get going." She said getting up from the couch.

I got up too and gave her a hug.

"Keep my baby safe." She said lowly.

I nodded my head and smiled.

"I'll see you later. Are we still going shopping on Saturday?" I asked her.

She nodded her head.

"Of course, how could I forget?" She asked making me chuckle.

I walked her to the door and made sure she got into her car safely before closing the door.

I made my way to the kitchen where I seen Dacian sneaking in the meatloaf I saved for dinner tonight.

I smacked his hand and grabbed the pan away from him.

"Nope, it's not dinner time yet." I stated glaring at him.

"But I'm starving." He chuckled putting on this fake pouty face.

"So...eat an apple or something." I replied back to him before sticking the pan back into the stove.

When I came back up from putting the meatloaf in the stomach he wrapped his arm around my waist and put his hand on my growing belly.

"So how has your day been?" He asked placing a kiss behind my ear.

I smiled before turning myself around in his arms and putting my arms around his neck.

"Today has been fine but it's even better now that you're here." I said making him blush something that he rarely does.

I kissed his adorable pink cheeks.

"I love you." He said before kissing me on the lips gently.

"I love you too." I mumbled against his lips.

He seems to be in a pretty good mood so maybe I should tell him about what Maria said.

"Baby, I have something to tell you." I said to him making him give me a look.

"What is it?" He asked slowly.

"It's nothing bad really so calm down." I told him making him let out a sigh of relief.

"Good, what is it you want to tell me, baby?" He asked kissing the back of my hand.

"Well I was telling Maria about what happened between us the other day..." I started to say before Dacian cut me off.

"Why are you discussing our business with her?" He asked shaking his head.

"Well she's my friend and plus she's a therapist, maybe she could help us." I told him.

Dacian let go of me and left me standing there but I wasn't having it. I started following after him.

"I don't care who she is to you. I don't want you telling her our business. For all I could know she could be the one running back and telling Jayden everything about us." Dacian said making me give him a confused look from behind.

By now we're upstairs in our bedroom.

"How would you know what Jayden knows anyways?" I asked him making him go silent.

The look on his face says he's hiding something from me.

"When did we start keeping secrets from each other?" I questioned him.

"I wasn't keeping a secret, I just didn't tell you." He said making me wave him off.

"Oh please don't start with that bullshit." I said waving him off.

"Watch your mouth." He said getting up and walking towards me.

I rolled my eyes.

"Stop keeping things from me and maybe I will. What happened?" I asked him.

"Jayden's my new client." He replied back to me making my mouth dropped.

"What a coincidence." I mumbled lowly.

Dacian let out a chuckle.

"It just so happens to not be a coincidence. He came looking for me. He knows about how we're married and the baby. He has been keeping tabs on us." Dacian explained to me.

"How though? We left everyone and everything back there." I stated putting my hand over my belly.

Dacian's now standing right in front of me.

"I think it's Maria." He stated making me shake my head.

"I can't believe it, you're right." I replied back to him.

We stood in silence for a few minutes.

"What do you want to do about this?" He asked grabbing my hands into his.

"I don't know but I'm gonna try to distance myself from Maria." I replied back to him.

"Sounds like a good choice."
