C H A P T E R 14☆

Aubrey☆

"Dacian, your phone is ringing." I said looking over at him as he's sound asleep.

He didn't move at all.

"Dacian!" I exclaimed getting irritated by his annoying ring tone.

"Baby, can you answer that for me?" He asked turning over.

I groaned getting up out of bed and going over to his side where he has his phone laying on the nightstand.

It's an unsaved number but maybe it's important.

I answered the phone.

"You wouldn't dare tell your boss about the photo I sent you!" A female's voice came through the phone.

"Excuse me?" I asked her confused as ever.

"Um who is this?" She asked.

"I should really be asking you that. You are calling my husband's phone." I said to her.

"Oh you must be the one he talks about a lot..." She said letting out a chuckle like something's funny.

"What's funny? I wanna laugh too." I said plainly.

"The fact that your husband has been constantly flirting with me for the past few weeks." She told me making me shake my head.

"You're lying." I said to her as I stared at Dacian while he slept.

"I'm not lying at all. He's always harassing me at work and even begs for me to send him nudes. I gave up yesterday and sent him one but he threated to give them to my boss if I don't send him more." She stated.

"That doesn't even sound right. Dacian would never do something like this." I replied back to her.

"Don't believe me? Ask him yourself." She said before hanging up the phone.

I looked at the phone before setting it down on the nightstand.

I snatched the pillow under Dacian's head super rough making him wake up.

He scrunched up his face.

"You look pissed." He mumbled wiping his eyes.

"That's because I am." I replied back to him hitting him with the pillow.

I was about to hit him again but he snatched the pillow out of my hand.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked me.

"Why are you messing around with your coworker?" I questioned him with my eyebrows raised.

He put his hand over his face while sighing.

"I'm not messing with her. She's bothering me. She's the one trying to mess around me. I wouldn't do that to you and you should know that." He said looking me dead in the eyes.

I nodded my head believing him.

"I believe you." I told him making him let out a sigh of relief.

"I can't believe you would even believe her. She's just trying to ruin what we have." Dacian said grabbing my hand and pulling me towards him.

"I know, it was just so random though." I told him.

He waved me off.

"You're my first love and there's nobody that can change that." He said sitting me down on his lap.

He gently kissed my lips then he kissed my bump.

"I love you forever and if that wasn't true I wouldn't have married you." He said making me turn a light shade of pink.

"I love you forever too." I mumbled as he kissed me on the lips.

"Now lets get ready so we can go see Aaliyah." He said to me.

I nodded my head and got up.

I was stupid to even think that Dacian would even think about cheating on me.

His coworker is just trying to ruin a good thing.

"What is he doing here again?" Dacian asked out loud before rushing into Aaliyah's room.

I hurried up to catch up with him.

There sat his dad in the chair beside Aaliyah's bed.

"What the hell are you doing here? You've practically been gone our entire life and now you want to show up acting like you care?" Dacian yelled at him making me jump.

This was a new type of anger. I've never seen him like this before.

"I--" His dad was about to say.

"Nothing, just get out of here now." Dacian demanded.

His dad just sat there not moving at all.

"Do I have to make you leave?" Dacian questioned him.

His dad quickly nodded his head before getting up and leaving.

Dacian's so angry you can see the vein popping out of his neck and he turned red.

"Dacian, don't you think you were a little too hard on him?" I asked him after minutes of just standing in silence.

"No, I wasn't. He can't just expect to come back into our lives thinking everything is okay.." Dacian started to say.

I shook my head. "But he's your father. At least he's trying to be here." I said to him.

Dacian shook his head. "We don't need him anyway." He stated making me get upset.

"You know I wish I had a mother and a father but I don't have anyone at all. Maybe you should be more grateful. You could just end up like me..." I told him before walking out the room.

"Aubrey." I heard him say as I headed towards the exit of the building.

I need some air to breath.

Dacian drove us here so I'm stuck sitting on a bench outside of the hospital.

People don't ever take the time out to appreciate certain things. Even though Dacian's father wasn't there most of his life doesn't mean he should treat his father like crap when he does try to be there.

I sat there for a few minutes before I turned to see Dacian coming out of the building. You can tell that he's looking for me.

"I'm over here." I said making him turn his head to look at me.

He sighed before coming over to the bench and sitting down.

"I didn't mean to make you upset." He said grabbing my hand.

"Well you did." I said lowly.

"I know, it's just that we were all alone when we were younger and the only one we had that was even remotely close to family was our grandma. Him showing up out of nowhere makes me think that he wants something." Dacian stated.

"Maybe he just showing that he cares about y'all." I replied back to Dacian.

Dacian shrugged his shoulders.

"Maybe so but I don't want to take any chances..."
