Kai lightly mixes a bowl a couple of times until stopping to watch Akio pull out a tray with baked colorful cookies from the oven, with its sweet warm aroma filling the air.
A bell was rung at the front counter as Mr. Mao passed the customers to-go order.
"Sakura, switch." Mr. Mao ordered as they swapped spots. Kai took charge of taking orders and being their servers. As Mr. Mao took care of the baking.
"Here is your raspberry cheesecake and peach-tea." she placed down the woman's orders and smiled "Will that be all?" The woman shook her head and thanked her before she walked back to the cash register to answer the phone.
"Your calling the Penguin Cafe, my name is Sakura, how may I help you?" An elder woman answered the phone.
"Hi, I would like 3 eclairs, 5 checkerboard cookies, and 10 macaro-ons. It is my grand-daughter's birthday today, so please make them very special for her."
"No problem, would that be all ma'am?"
"Nope that will be all."
Kai shuffled around a drawer to find a small notebook and pen to write down her information.
"Please give me your name and your grand-daughter's name?"
"My name is Itsuki and my grand-daughter's name is Ayako."
"Beautiful. Now what time are you going to pick it up?"
"Tomorrow, around 14:30."
"Thank you very much Itsuki, I'll see you then."
"Thank you very much sweetie."
