"Ow!" I yell pulling my hand back from the hot engine. Maybe I shouldn't put my hand in there I think, agreeing with myself. Walking over to the tools I begin to wipe down a few of them following with my hands. Once most of the grease has left my hands I pull my wavy brown hair out of my face and into a pony tail.
"Avery!" I hear a voice from the drive way. Knowing exactly who the voice belongs too. I quickly reply.
"Shed!" I yell back, turning to Jesse walking through the doors.
"Hey" He smiles pulling me into a hug before looking over the car.
"How long have you been working on the car tonight?" He asks running his fingers along the new paint work.
"Since I got home from school pretty much, it's almost reading how come you took so long to come around?" I ask as his head swings under the bonnet checking the engine for any problems.
"Oh mum wouldn't let me leave until I'd done my homework" He signs his hands flying from part to part on the engine.
"I'm sorry Jess" I genially am sorry. Having ADD is really hard on him, I know it is. We've been best friends since 1st grade and I've watched him struggle with it a lot.
"Come over here look at this" He motions for me to look under the hood, he points to the Turbine wheel inducer.
"You've got some FOD damage on it"
"Are you kidding me?!" I yell pushing away from the car.
"Hey! Calm down, it's easy fixed. When did you take her for a drive?" He ask looking at me, pulling the hood down and taking a seat.
"How do you know I took her out?" I ask. I told him I would wait until he was with me for the first drive, but I couldn't wait and I just went.
"You can't exactly get FOD by leaving it sat in the shed" He laughs at my stupidity.
"Okay but I only went out once. I swear!" I plead.
"Whatever" He smiles getting up and leaving me alone in the shed.
