"Are you sure this is it?" I ask my eyes not leaving the sight stood before me.

"Yeah, these are the directions he gave us" I nod at his reply, both of us exciting the car and beginning to make our way to the front door of the old antique shop. Knocking on the Locker door. Looking up to Jesse. He's trying to see through the glass of the front door. Eyebrows knitting together in confusion.

"What's wrong?" I ask him

"I don't think anyone's here" he replies turning back to me.

"Let's try the back" I suggest, making our way to the back. Jesse's hand slips into mine, looking up at him before he speaks.

"Just in case" he squeezes my hand in reassurance.

"Avery!" I hear her voice. The voice of the woman I've missed so much. Turning quickly, releasing Jesse's hand. I see her stood with tears in her eyes, holding her arms open. I feel anger rush through me, before I start to speak.

"Do you really think you can just show up and I'll forgive you? You left me! We thought you dead-"

"Avery I'm sorry-" I stop her mid sentence

"No, you can't just show up after two years of me thinking you were dead and apologise and expect everything to go back to how they were!"

"Aver-" I cut her off again

"When I was on my way I literally could not wait to see you, I wanted to hug you and I wanted to just be with you but now I come to actually seeing you all I feel is anger!" I yell, a tear falling onto my cheek. Feeling Jesse's hand rest around my waist letting me know he's here.

"I'm sorry Avery, I- "

"I don't care if you're sorry, do you remember how happy dad was? Rarely ever sad?" I ask her

"Yes, how is he-" she starts

"How is he? He's crap ever since you died or you disappeared he's been a reck! Yes okay he's happy sometimes but he's changed, you can see he's broken and you did that to him! Just leave us alone and don't come back" I yell, running past her back to the front of the shop, getting into the car.

"Why did I come here? This was a mistake" I speak to myself cradling my head in my hands tears dropping into my jeans.

The sound of my car door clicking I look to the door I just closed to see Jesse knelt down. His arms pulling me out of the car and onto his lap his head resting on mine as my face presses to his chest my arms wrapped around his torso. I feel his lips leave a kiss on the top of my head.

"I'm proud of you Avery" he speaks up.

"W- why?" I ask pulling my head from his chest looking into his eyes.

"Not many people would have the courage to meet their mum that they thought was dead" he smiles.

"Not many people get put in that situation Jess"

"Oh yeah" I laugh at his realisation.

"Are you going to tell your dad about this?" He asks.

"No, I feel like it will only break him again" I sign standing from his lap and getting back into the car.

"Let's just go back to yours" I say as Jesse gets in the drivers seat starting the engine. Before I know it we're back in town, I asked Jesse to detour past my house just to see if dads their, I haven't seen him since the race. As we near my house I notice a car in the drive realising whose it is I speak up.

"Jesse pulled in now!" He pulls into the driveway of my house I run to the car. Not ones in it. Crap. She can't be in the house already. I get to the front door bashing against it. Soon enough dad shows up to the door with tear stained cheeks.

"Where is she?!" I yell pushing past him I see her sat on the lounge.

"I told you to leave us alone!" I yell
