Jess decided on staying tonight. We don't really have to ask my dad anymore since he knows Jesse well enough. It's a Wednesday night and we've been in the garage for over three hours. But honestly feels like one.
Dropping the hood I lean against the front of the car. Jess passes me trying to get to the right side of the car. As he moves past me his hands rest upon my hips holding me out of the way. He's quick to release his grip once he's past me.
Has he always done that?
Or is he starting now?
"It is now 10:38pm I repeat 10:38 every one out of the shed and up to bed please!" Dads voice booms from the back door into the shed. I begin to clean off some of the tools, Jess doing the same.
"Ready for the race tomorrow?" Jess's voice fills my ears.
"Yep, when aren't I ready?" I laugh
"Fair point" he smiles before his attention is turned back to the spanner he's cleaning.
Shutting the shed doors, flicking the locks and checking to make sure they're secure I make my way back into the house and up to my room. Jess following closely behind.
Heading to the bathroom I change into a pair of sweats and a tank top. Leaving the bathroom I enter my room to a shirtless Jesse. Nothing I haven't seen before. Ignoring his shirtlessness I flop onto my bed.
"Get to bed you two it' s school tomorrow!" Dad shouts once again. He's strict on school nights. I have no idea how I'm going to sneak out tomorrow without him noticing.
"Where did you move the blankets too? They aren't in the cupboard anymore" Jess asks about to leave the room on his hunt.
"Oh I'm not sure"
Just do it Avery.
I need to know how he'll react.
"Just sleep with me tonight Jess" I pull from eye contact. Getting into my queen sized bed pretending it doesn't bother me.
"Uh- um- ar- are you sure?" His stutter clear in his words again. I smile in response patting the bed beside me. He slides in beside me, trying to make sure no part of him comes into contact with me.
"Night Jess" I smile turning away from him, pulling the blanket to my face. Him still not moving an inch.

My eyes flicker open to the sunlight streaming through my window. I begin to move but can feel a weight on my hip. Jesse.
My eyes look down to find his arms wrapped around my waist and for some reason it doesn't bother me. I need to move but I really don't want too.
"Avery! Jesse! Are you up?" I hear dads foot steps begin to walk towards my room.
"Just a sec dad!" I yell back. Trying to push Jess off me, only causing him to groan and hold me tighter.
"Jess! Dads coming get up!" I whisper but somewhat yell. His eyes widen at the realisation of his actions and he's quick to release me.
"I- I'm s- sorry. I- I didn't mean to" he stutters lifting himself from the bed. And goes to sit on the couch but I quickly grab his wrist his eyes connect with mine.
"It's okay Jess. I didn't mind" with this I smile quickly pushing him onto the couch. Just in time dad enters the room to Jess sat a smile on his face and me staring thankfully at the fact dad took so long.
