"Avery! Jesse's here!" My dad's voice echoes through the house. launching from my bed. I should probably make sure I look okay. Checking my appearance in the mirror. My hair cascades over my shoulders. I decided to go with my usual approach to clothes.
Black tank a little too short so some of my stomach is visible.
Deep blue jeans.
toped off with my trusty black high top converse.
"You- uh look pretty today" Startled by Jesse's voice I soon turn to him to see him rubbing the back of his neck. He only ever does this when he's nervous. Trust me when you spend as much time as I do with Jesse you get to know all their habits. Good and bad. Smiling I walk over giving him a quick hug replying.
"Thanks Jess" before grabbing his wrist and leading him to the kitchen.
"So did you want to work on the car today after school?" I ask breaking the comfortable silence that had settled. Opening the fridge to grab an apple as he takes his usual seat at the kitchen counter
"Oh Yeah sure! Sounds good!" He sits up from the excitement of me mentioning his beloved car.
"You two better get to school or you won't be entering the shed tonight" With that we both make our way out the door, into my Mitsubishi lancer evo 2002 aka my baby. Before I know it we're heading down the road towards school. I honestly don't mind school. I mean I would much rather be in the shed just me, Jess and a car but it passes the time.
----
Heading through the gates of the school. Shit.
"I think we're late Aves" His faces drops at the thought. I've never been late so I don't understand.
"Come on Jess we can't be that late" He nods in step we push the door to the locker rooms open entering to people flooding the corridor. Thank god.
"We aren't late" His face lights up at the realisation. We split our separate ways to our lockers. Grabbing my books one by one piling them on my arm before closing my locker and heading to class taking my normal seat furthest to the right, second row from the back.
Picking at my nails as I wait for the teacher. I look up as I feel the familiar presence entering the room. My eyes meet Jess's his light up at the sight of me. Quickly rushing to the seat beside me as if someone was ready to take it. Nobody was as these were our seats we sat in everyday pretty much.
