My eyes slowly open, seeing myself wrapped around Jesse, his hand on my lower back, pulling me in. I ended up sleeping at Jesses, not wanting to go back to Dads house after the incident yesterday. Not only did he take my money, but he said Mum isn't here anymore, but I can always feel her in my heart. I detach Jesse from me and walk downstairs, greeted by Lance half hanging on the lounge. I'm still a little bit confused on  how Jesse and Lance are friends.

Flashback to night before

As I sob into Jesses arms, I hear a car pull up. Confused, I look up to see Lance stepping out of his car walking towards me. I let go of Jesse and give him a confused look on to why he is here.

"Come on let's go." Lance says, putting his hand on my back leading me to his car. I look to Jesse who is already looking at me. I give him 'a what the hell' look and he just looks away, not explaining.

"Why are you here." I ask him, wiping the remainder of my tears away.

"You've had to much to drink tonight, I can't let you or Jesse drive tonight." He says, as I get in the back of the car, while Jesse sits at the front with Lance. Didn't they hate each other before? Why does Lance suddenly care?

"Why are you guys acting normal around each other? Lance are you drunk?" I say as he stifles a laugh

"I'm not drunk or I would not be here driving you to Jesses." He says backing out of our driveway

"Seriously, Lance how'd you know about this?" I say looking at him, but he doesn't turn around to look back. I sit there waiting for him to answer, but Jesse does instead

"I told him to come." Jesse says, turning and looking at me. I scratch my head in response. I don't understand?

"We talked a bit while you were racing today." Lance says, taking a sharp turn causing me to fall a bit to the side. Them talking?

"I thought you guys despised each other." I say looking towards them both.

"I-I only despise him because I-I feel like h-he would make a better friend the me." Jesse says, looking out the window, not looking at me. I hear him take a shaky sigh. He is jealous of Lances friendship with me?

"Jesse don't think that." I say as I look at him, still looking out the window.

"Jesse you are definitely a better friend and I'm not taking Avery away from you, she is all yours mate." Lance says, sending a wink to Jesse. Jesse turns red and looks down.

"So you guys are friends?" I say, trying to understand what they are

"Acquaintances." Jesse says, looking at me. I look at his eyes, again getting lost in them but I quickly look away before he notices that I have stared for a long time

*End*

I was startled by Jesse who hugs me from behind, hiding his face in the crook of my neck.

"You feeling better?" He mumbles in my neck, sending warmth over my body

"Yeah I guess, I'm trying not to think about it." I say, as Jesse pulls away from me. He leads me into the kitchen, I open the cupboard and grab some bread and put it in the toaster. I wait until the toast pops and I spread the mighty vegemite onto my toast. I might not act Australian but I sure act like one eating vegemite. As I'm eating my toast, Lance come into the kitchen and takes a banana from the fruit bowl.

"Morning Avery, Jesse." He says biting into his banana. They give each other a nod before looking away.

"Oh crap, I still have my car at Dads." I say mentally cursing in my head. I should have drove it home last night

"It's in the drive way, I picked it up this morning, your Dad wasn't home." Lance says, throwing  me the keys to my car. I must have left the keys on the bench

"If I go out there and find a scratch on my car, you're dead." I say as Lance looks away and laughs.
