I felt sweat dripping off of me. I had taken my shirt off an hour ago and it didn't help the heat from the room and outside. It had been around 8 A.M. when I started and it was now around 1 P.M. and I had barely scratched the surface of this pile of junk.
And (Your Name) wasn't helping. She was encouraging at first, but then she started nagging me on how slow I was going. In other words, she was a real pain right now.
I felt pain stemming from my lower back, and my arms hurt from lifting several things. I had been cleaning while I was doing this, so if I ever came back, I wouldn't have to search through the mess again.
I had just finished cleaning a section of the small room, I had finished the kitchen, now it was clean and was livable.
Onto the side that was supposedly in front of the window.
After about another 5 hours of cleaning I was done and there was the window. Underneath the window was small wooden desk which held a laptop. I smiled I had finally found it.
Bear, open the CD compartment of the tower and see if there is still a game inside.
I rose an eyebrow. She expected me to know this stuff? I shrugged slightly and leaned towards the tower looking part of the computer that stood to the left of the small computer.
After clicking random buttons, and hearing a laugh from the weird girl, a tray popped out.
A circular disc took up most of the platform and I'm guessing that this is what (Your Name) meant by 'CD'.
I picked it up, surprised that this was still intact as everything else in the room was damaged in some form or fashion.
Yay, you found it!, now the last thing. A person. This would be so much easier if we could just revive someone.
(Your Name) started rambling about people who knew her as the word "Revive" bounced around in my head. "That's it! (Your Name), you're a genius! We just have to resurrect someone!"
I stood and ran over to our room and placed the picture and CD on the counter and went to grab the book.
And how do we do that o' wise one?
"The book will tell us!"
I heard her groan at the mention of this book.
How do we even know that this book will work? It might just be a phony, not everything you read is real, I hope you know that.
I nod, " I do know that (Your Name), I might look stupid, but I am overall not. This book is not a fake. Because in order to make sure you weren't dying, I had to find something precious to you."
You didn't do that though.
"I did, that precious thing was your son. Even though he is evil now, you still love him and he still loves you. Look, I know that I may not be all that qualified to tell you what is wrong and what is right, but I am a wishing star. I can grant things. That is how I know this book will work, you want to be real, I'll grant that to you. But you have to believe me (Your Name) or... It. Will. Not. Work."
She was silent. I could hear the crickets out side, together it all sounded like a low hum in my ears. Something that I wasn't used to.
I do.
I sighed and gave a smile. I sat down on the bed and started flipping through the book. The pages spewed dust at me as if I hadn't opened them in a while. Which was ridiculous because I did this morning.
After about an hour of reading I had fallen onto my back and soon drifted off into a dreamless sleep. Which was in this case, very often.
Bear, Bear!
I woke with a start. I rubbed my eyes. as (Your Name) continued to call my name. "What?" I said and she gave a relieved sigh.
Bear look at the page you are on.
I looked down at the book which was laying face down in my chest. I picked it up only to see the procedure for a resurrection. "Perfect." I mumbled as I yawned and rubbed my eyes again.
Bear you need to be awake.
"But I'm tired, what time is it anyway?" I glanced around the room and found the alarm clock.
"4:27 A.M.? Really? Sleep!" I groaned and closed my eyes. When I heard the nagging come back.
You need to get up! If we don't perform this now, It'll take forever to get my body back! Especially with your procrastination!
I huffed and sat up, my eyes skimming the page.
" 1) A picture with them in it. 2)The voice of a loved one." I rolled my eyes.
"Got anything?"
Yes, I have a picture of my brother, and I think I can project my voice through you.
I grimaced, project her voice through me? That would be weird but worth it.
"Alright then," I paused for a moment. "We'll do it later." I said and laid back down. I heard a frustrated growl for (Your Name) and I sat up again. "All right, all right. We''l do it now...." I stood up and went to go find the picture of her brother.
"Any hints?"
In the drawer where the last one was.
I made an 'Oh' sound and went searching through the drawer. I found a picture a someone, but I couldn't figure it out. "(Your name)?"
That's Onyx. He's my younger brother. And my favorite.
I nodded and went and sat down on the floor. I placed the picture in front of me. I pulled the book over to me and read over the page.
"So you need to say some words... But I don't know what they mean..."
De caelo et inferno, et vocavi te in hoc saeculo videri forma tua. It's latin. (Or google translate in this case)
"Any idea what it means?"
I'm not a translator, I can tell what language, but not what it says.
"Then what's the point?"
Shut up and let me use your body.
