"Your face shows that you're easily confused." Bear clarified.
My son made a face and shook his head and sighed. "I'm sorry."
The three of us looked at each other taking on his confusion.
"What's with the sorry?" Onyx asked as he stepped towards (Kid's Name). "I'm sorry. I'll have to kill you. Dad and," He froze before resuming his speech. "Satan. They'll have my head if they see you!" He shuddered and withdrew his sword. He slashed at Onyx but Bear jumped in front taking the hit instead. Onyx backed up and opened his pitch black wings, purple flames rising from his hands. Otherwise known as magic.
I wanted to help Bear and Onyx but I just couldn't fight my own kin. I felt useless. I watched as Onyx and (Kid's Name) fought. Eventually, Onyx got knocked back leaving him half unconscious, Bear in pain on the floor, and my own kid coming after me.
"You're the only one that needs to go." He said in a somber tone as he raised his sword to pierce me in the chest.
In a split second, I saw Lucifer in him. I let out a shaky breath. This was just like that day. I couldn't, no I wouldn't fight back.
"Kill me," I said and he swung his sword down.
I looked him straight in the eyes until I saw a pair of heterochromia eyes instead. "Bear?" My voice was soft as he gave me a smile. He looked down and I followed his eyes. My son's sword had run him right through.
I saw the sword retreat through him and blood start to pour out of the wound as he fell backwards. He was still alive but he wouldn't be for very much longer.
It was this moment that I realized that my not wanting to fight those who I love, gets other people hurt. It's unacceptable.
I stood and gently stepped over Bear's body to get to my kin.
"(Kid's Name)," my voice was stern as if I was a mother scolding her child for doing something wrong. Oh wait, that is me. Oops. I grabbed his shirt and dragged him down to my height.
"Listen to me. Look at what you've done. You shouldn't hurt family. I don't want you to be your father. I don't want you to turn out like him."
He soon responded through gritted teeth.
"I didn't hurt family, you all aren't family! I won't end up like him, I'll be better than him!"
He seemed to be out of control. He became unstable so quickly. He proceeded to try and stab me. But I disarmed him with magic. I backhanded him, it threw him backwards. Then next words that came out of my mouth hurt us both, yet we both knew it was true.
"You are not my son. You would never hurt family. You would never disobey. You'll never be better than your father if you keep on acting just like him."
He stood shakily and sighed before disappearing out of the window. As I watched, I felt tears stream down my cheeks as I clenched my fists.
"Am I not good enough for that brat?" I spat before falling to my knees.
"No, he's not good enough for you." Bear's voice sounded strained and I turned immediately going to his aid. He had lost more than a gallon of blood. I wasn't sure of the actual measurement, but it was a hell of a lot judging by the blood puddle surrounding him.
"Bear! Don't speak, you'll hurt yourself, even more, you idiot!" I hissed at him and he gave a strained laugh.
"Even when we both know I'm going to die, you still call me names." He gave me a weak smile. "We don't know that you are going to die!" I felt the tears coming faster now.
"Hey," He reached up and wiped the tears away. "I will come back. Don't forget that."
I slowly nodded and reached down bringing him up so it would be easier to talk.
"Even with that knowledge, you still want me to stay alive a litt-" He hissed in pain making a expression of worry cross my face. " A little longer." He finished. He glanced at my face and laughed. It was strained but it was nice to know that he could still feel his face right now.
"If you keep your face like that, it'll stick!" He reached up and manually relaxed my face. "T-There." He inhaled a sharp breath signaling that he was getting closer to death. But I didn't want him to leave yet. I didn't want him to leave at all.
He kept his eyes on me as he smiled. "It'll take a few days for me to come back, but please, promise me you'll wait for me." His smile was fading but he still kept strong. I nodded vigorously. At this motion, he grabbed my hands kissing them softly before fading off. I could feel tears rolling off of my face that held a shattered expression. The tears fell onto my lap, where Bear had been not a few seconds ago.
He was gone, and now I would have to wait for him. I promised.
A/n- Well, hello there! I just realized that I made this story more of a Reader X OC than a Reader X Lucifer. But don't worry! It will get there. Also, due to the fact of that I hate writing (Kid's Name) repeatedly. He needs a name. You decide between:
-Asher
-Sky
I got nothing else. But feel free to suggest what you named your kid! Until next chapter!
