Decomposing Feelings

Chapter 24

It was a letter written by Selena' mother.

Ivy, "how do you have this in your possession?"

Stranger, "her mother gave it to me in her dyeing moments."

Ivy, "you will never have me tangled in your lies; I know what you are capable of. Why would Selena' mother give you a letter."

Stranger, "you don't have to believe me, all I am asking you is to read the letter. This is the only thing I posses that will help me tell you something that has been hidden from you all this time."

Ivy began to read the letter

"My dear daughter, nothing made me happier then to see you once again, alive and walking with us. For I was grieved by your death, to an extent I had no desire to live. You can only imagine how happy I was that day to find you my daughter. I asked myself, was this dream? For if it was, I never would want to wake up, only that I may be with you. This has always been my love for you my sweetheart but it was no dream, it was a horrible reality, for my daughter never returned. This monstrous creature that has come in your body, took all that I had remaining with me away from me. You killed your very own father, your brother and now you seek my life too. I have no fear of death now, I have nothing to live for but I don't want you to take another life after you have taken mine."

Ivy was shocked to read what she read in that letter, it was challenging everything that she had believed and fought for yet. With tears rolling down her cheeks as she crushed the letter in her palm, he spoke:

Stranger, "I found this letter next to her mother dead body. Selena is not what you thing she is, she is undead, you call me a monster, you have been staying with one all this time."

Ivy, "you mean, Selena killed her family?"

Stranger, "not only her family but all those towns' people. When I reached there to take her away from the land of the living, I was too late, she had killed so many of them and already eaten of their flesh. I could not sense her presence or even see her because of the bracelet that she wore, that bracelet given to her by the old man."

Ivy, "are you Rahuk?"

Stranger, "yes I am, I am Rahuk, the fallen. Cast away by my creator for my sin of desiring mortal brides but I have only gained emptiness being away from him and getting ruined by being consumed in my desire."

Ivy, "this is exactly what Selena told me."

Rahuk, "she spoke the truth but not everything that she revealed to you is the truth. Selena' grandfather who was a sprite walker just like her and just like you are met me in my world and spoke to me of the very thing that I wanted, to be united with my creator yet again. He said her knew a way by which I would have access to the gate that led straight to the realm where I once was. All I ever had to do was to take her granddaughter Selena as my last mortal bride and make her share in my powers. For he said Selena knew ever secret door and the knowledge to unlock them but she was weak in power to reach there, so my powers would give her the strength to help me. The day he brought her to my world, I was under the spell of her beauty, I surrendered to her magnificent charm the very moment I saw her and I accepted to take her as my bride. She was innocent back then, she knew nothing back then but the old man was wicked, for her was using her to have a share in my power, only that I was blinded in my love for Selena so much that I never realized what the old man' intentions were. Many days passed, I had shared a lot of my power with her and this made me very weak to even have a very strong control of my kingdom. Selena and her grandfather returned to the world of the mortal and with all that power that she now had, her grandfather forged a mighty bracelet that would keep her away from my sight and my senses. When I returned to the mortal world to ask Selena to come back with me, I saw that her secret was revealed to the people living in that town and that she had slaughtered them all including her father, I asked her sternly to return back with me but she ran away from me. When I tried to go behind her, her grandfather stood in between, holding that bracelet which blocked me completely too even sense her or see her, he asked me to return back to my world and never come back to the mortal world or else he would use the power of the bracelet to destroy me, I turned back to return when I heard Selena' mother's voice. So I entered the house, she was breathing her last and had this letter in her hand. I took the letter from off her hand and returned back to my world and lost Selena forever, for her presence was taken away by the power of that bracelet forged by her grandfather but when the bracelet was removed in that hospital, it helped me return back taking this mortal form. I want to amend my wrongs by taking her to the place where she belongs."
