Sleep at Last

Lisa's POV

We pulled up to Ruth's appartment and stepped of the bike.
"Here's your jacket, Steven" I smiled at him.

"Oh thanks! I keep this for next time." He raised an eyebrow and put it in the saddlebag of his motorcycle. Then fluffed up his hair.

Steven grabbed me around the waist and we walked up to Ruth's appartment building. We got into the elevator and pressed "2" for second floor.

Steven had a huge smile on his face and turned towards me. "Love in an Elevator..." He began to sing. I laughed and kissed him on the cheek.

'Ding!' The elevator opened, we walked to Lisa's appartment, and opened the door. Steven kept his hand on my waist.

And before we could knock on the door, it flung open. Ruth gave me such a big hug I almost fell over. "LISA DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE MISSED YOU?! OH MY GOSH MR. TYLER! I am a huge fan!"

Steven gave Ruth a quick hug. "Why thank you, Ruth. You girls have fun! And you look Lisa like you need some rest."

"We have a lot to catch up on. Ya I will certainly have to go get some sleep."

Steven hugged me then whispered in my ear "I'll call you later. Have fun." And with a kiss on my cheek, he left.

Ruth pulled me inside then closed the door. Steven was right. I was tired but by had a lot to tell Ruth.

She gave me a hug and I told her about me running away from my dad's house and leaving my brother behind, but I knew he would be ok. He was even stronger than me. And that was saying something.

"YOU WHAT?! So you are done with him? Never going back?" She was scared for me at first, but she adventually got excited.

"Yea I left, but I know someday I can go back. Just not right now." I looked down at my feet.

She gave me a huge hug. "I'm here for you Lisa. You can stay with me as long as you need to." I gave her a smile then huged her back.

Then things took a turn and I told her about Steven and how I temperarly denied his request to be my boyfriend. And how he saved me from my father. I didn't tell her about the kissing because I knew she would loose her mind and not let me go.

"I don't know Ruth. I mean, I know he is there for me and get this. I feel that I can trust him and even open up, but I don't known if I'm ready. So I said to take things slow and ask me later when I wasn't as scared of my father."

She looked at me and understood. I have only opened up to my Mom and her. Well when my mom died, my life just took a turn and things were never the same.

"Well Lisa, by the way he hugged you and snuck that kiss on the cheek in, I can tell y'all have feelings for each other."

"Ya. Thanks for understanding and letting me stay at your place. Oh one more thing..." I bought two tickets for the Living Mary concert when I was at my dad. They were for my brother and I, but I'm going to take Ruth instead because I knew she would want to go.
"I bought us two tickets to the Loving Mary concert here!"

She ran up and gave me the biggest hug. "AW GIRL I LOVE YOU!!"

I laughed. "I know you do, and Steven doesn't know yet. So where can I sleep? I am exhausted. Two days in a motorcycle really takes it out of you!"

She pointed to a room down the hall "There is a guest room back there. You can have it for now!"

"Ok thanks babe!" I walked past her little kitchen. Her appartment was pretty nice.

I walked in the guest bedroom, closer the door, took of my luggage, changed, and took a look at the clock on the bedside table.

It read '6:00.' Man I really lost track of time!

And with no other delays, I finally slept.
