Our Safe Haven

Lisa's POV

4th of July

Steven drove Andrew and I back to the house and we got out of the truck. I wanted to show Steven Betsy, my favorite cow, and my favorite horses.

"Alright Andrew we will catch up with you later! I'm going to give Steven a tour." I said winking at Steven

"Okay I'll be around the house." Andrew said and I grabbed Steven's hand.

Though he was curious, I led Steven to the barn and brought in my favorite cow, Betsy, and she instantly recognized me.

"This is Betsy. She loves people." I said to Steven

Steven walked over and said hello to her then I put her back in the pasture.

"You are so cute with animals" Steven said and kissed my cheek. I blushed and looked down at my feet.

I led him to the horse stable and opened the door. I led Steven to my two favorite horses and we said hello.

"Aw you missed me Kye?" I said to the horse, who's name was Kye. I put a sugar cube in Steven's hand and he fed it to Kye.

"He is adorble Lisa." Steven said
I giggled because the sight of Steven with a horse was so cute. I then said hello to Dane and gave him a sugar cube.

"Alright Steven Kye is yours and I will ride Dane" I said.

"Ride huh? Oh yeah I got this baby! Saddle 'em up!" Steven said. I laughed and saddled Kye and Dane.

We swung a leg over and climbed up on our horses. I led Dane out and then Steven came out of the stable with Kye behind me.

"Ok babe I'm going to lead you back into the woods" I looked back at him on Kye "just follow me and try your best to keep up!" I giggled

"Oh baby I can ride a horse! I'm even wearing my boots today" Steven said and laughed

"Well alrighty then..." I said and put Dane in to a trot. Steven picked up on what I was doing and troted behind me, inching to the side of my horse.

I giggled "Mmmm you know how to ride a horse too? Sexy" I gave him a wink and he just laughed

I led Steven into a pasture that cows weren't in and through the woods to a spot I used to always come to. Something about it made me feel so safe and comfortable. We arrived at the edge of the woods and Steven and I hopped off our horses and tied them to a tree.

"Where are we going baby?" Steven asked

I put a finger on his lips and said "You'll see"

"Mmmm sexy." Steven purred I giggled and he wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me close into a passionate kiss.

I deepened the kiss by sliding in my tounge and he did the same. I put my hands around his shoulders. And pulled back.

"Steven have you been working out?" I asked, griping his arm

"Yep! I've been bench pressing at the gym to get a little muscle" He said

"Mmmm sexy." I said, mimicking him. He laughed.

"Now come on you. I have a special place to take you." I said

I grabbed Steven's hand and led him into the woods. We crossed a stream and then I took him out to an area in the woods where the was a soft layer of grass on the ground, and it was shaded perfectly with trees. We both sat down.

"This is where I spent hours of my time when my dad would become abusive" I started to choke up at the memories. "Something about this spot sang to me, as if someone was here comforting me."

Steven wrapped a hand around my waist and pulled me closer. "Hey it's ok he's in jail now. I'm not going to let him hurt you." he have me a reassuring kiss on my nose. "This place is beautiful. I've always loved the woods. It brought a different feel to my life, and the woods back in Sunapee even inspired some of my songs." Steven said.

"I love you Lisa. Everything you show me or do just keeps on making me love you more and more." Steven said

I giggled and said "I love you more!" I shot him a wink and we stood up off the ground.

"Well do you want to head back to the house or ride on the horses more." I asked looking into Steven's eyes. He was hiding something, but I wasn't sure what I was.

"Either baby but first..." Steven said

"First what?" I asked him curiously

"This." Steven wrapped his hands around me tight and pulled me in close, eliminating all space between us. I wrapped one hand around his shoulder and my other found his fluffy hair. He kissed me, and I returned it. We pulled away, but we were both breathless.

I looked in his eyes, and noticed he was still hiding something "Steven what are you not telling me? What are you hiding?" I asked

"I'm not hiding anything" Steven was not going to budge, so I let it go.

"Ok then, but I've known you for too long to not catch up with your silly little tricks." I said and Steven smiled that sexy knee trembling smile

"Well shit Steven if you smile at me like that than I will have to hold you back here will me." I laughed

"Mmmm I like that." Steven purred

I kissed him again then bit his lip softly. When I got his reaction I wanted, I ran off to my horse, jumped on and tried to race Steven back to the house, but he followed me.
