Chapter 9

"Is she awake yet?"

"For the last time no!"

"Well sorry but I'm not patient."

"No shit Sherlock!"

The annoying voices continued to argue back and forth for what seemed like 10 minutes. I tried to pry my eyes open but it was as if they were glued shut. The voices were getting louder and I began to get a headache. I reached my hand out and felt for something to put over my head. I finally found a pillow and quickly threw on top of my head and clamped my hands over my ears.

"Hey she wasn't in that position a second ago!"

"Ha! So she is awake!"

Urgh! Can't they be quiet for one minute? "Shut up!", I said.

Someone wolf whistled. "Wow someones not a morning person."

If I had my eyes open I would roll them, but they were still stuck at the moment.

"Well now that your awake, we can finally go watch some TV." I instantly recognized Micah's voice. Wow I haven't  known them that long but I can recognize his voice.

"Why did you have to wait for me to be awake to watch TV?", I asked curiously.

"Alex wouldn't let us. He had to go somewhere for something and he left us in charge of making sure you were ok."

"I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be ok?", I asked.

"You don't remember? Oh and you know you can open your eyes right?"

"I'm trying but it feels like they are glued together. I can't open them! Please tell me I'm not going blind and that no one tried sewing my eyes shut while I was asleep." I began freaking out.

I felt hands come down on my shoulders. "No one would do that to you, I promise. I think it's because you have been asleep for a couple of days. Sometimes that happens when you haven't opened your eyes for a while. I'll help you. Yo, dumb ass grab a wet washcloth."

"Hey I'm not an ass!"

"Wow he really is dumb." I say.

A little later--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aaron was finally able to get all the crap off my eyes so that I could open them. It was really bright and I flinched when one of the boys came close to my face.

"You have really pretty eyes."

"Um.. thanks!", I stutter.

He just smiles and leans back.

"So you don't remember anything that happened?" Aaron said.

"What do you mean? I remember hanging with you guys and then Alex came and... WAIT! Alex? He lives here doesn't he?"

They all looked guilty and nodded. I felt my stomach drop. I opened my mouth to say something when we all heard a pounding noise.

"What the hell?", I shouted.

"Shit!" The boys said.

They grabbed me and put me behind them, putting themselves between me and whatever was trying to get in.

"Let me in!", a voice suddenly cried out.

The boys' eyes went wide and Aaron ran for the door. He opened it and Alex stepped across the threshold and into the kitchen. He was covered in blood and his clothes were ripped. He looked into my eyes, I couldn't look away. He looked like he was in a lot of pain.

"What happened man?", one of the boys asked.

"Demons", he said as he lost all strength and collapsed on the floor. I was the first one to move. I don't know why I did, but my body seemed to move by itself. I ran to his side and grabbed his arm. He looked up at me and gave me a small sad smile. My heart broke and tears began to well up in my eyes. Why was I crying? Once again my body just did it on its own. I took his hand and held on to it tightly as I watched his eyes flutter close and his head fell back into my lap.
