"Baybeh." August said, waking me out of my slumber.

"Hmm?" I said, fluffing my pillow before turning my head to the other direction and attempted to fall asleep for the third time this morning.

First, the smell of August smoking weed woke me up at 2 o'clock in the morning.

Then, it was the loud noise of him moving things around in the medicine cabinet possibly trying to find something to soothe his less intensifying hangover.

Now it's this: trying to purposely wake me up at 5 in the morning.

"Baybeh. Get up."

"I'm not awake yet." I mumbled face down into the pillow.

"You is awake cause you talkin ta' me."

"Nuh uh. You're imagining this." I told him. "You're dreaming. Close your eyes and go to sleep." I said, pulling the covers over my face is since August wanted to be petty and turn on every light, including the bathroom and hallway light.

I felt a pair of hands creeping beneath the covers and grab my legs, pulling me down.

August sat me up on the bed, putting me on my knees as he stood in front of me.

"I need somebody ta talk to." He said, waking me up completely.

"What's on your mind?" I asked him, rubbing his arms gently, making him ease up.

"Come on."

He grabbed my Ugg boots and placed them on my feet. Then took one of his jackets and wrapped it around me. He then intertwined our fingers and led us out of the house.

We walked deeper into the backyard being met by nothing except leafless trees and chilly winds.

Due to it getting closer to December, the temperatures were decreasing. I wrapped the jacket tighter around my neck and chest.

August noticed my gesture and pulled me closer to him, placing a kiss on my forehead.

I smiled a little and kept walking, anxious as to where he was taking me. After about fifteen more minutes, we arrived at a beautiful lake with a boardwalk.

August and I sat at the end of it and looked at the water

August and I sat at the end of it and looked at the water. We were silent for a while before I looked up at him and seen the mournful and dejected expression written across his face.

"What's on your mind?" I asked him.

He let out a breath and looked at the water for a few seconds more.
