I have been gone entirely too long. It seems like every time I relax, even for a second, something else pops up. But I'm back and I'm better.

I do have a slight confession, I'm lowkey thinking about dissing this book. I just feel like I'm losing my touch with it. Idk.

Hopefully I can interest myself, as well as you guys into the book again. We'll see.

Let's read, shall we?

Avery Jordan

August and I moved around the room in silence as we packed our bags, preparing to head back to the States.

We were both feeling kind of 80/20 about the whole trip. Eighty, because he, as well as I, enjoyed my newfound family members and the country my parents grew up in. Twenty, because my grandmother is a racist piece of work.

"You got everything, baybeh?"

"Yea." I answered, "I believe I do. You?"

"Yea. Let's go." He said. I led the way as he carried my bags, as well as his. After signing out of the hotel, Grandpa Codin sent a message my way asking us to stop by once more, even though we were there all last night.

As we arrived to the house, there were signs decorating the yard with things like, "We love you, Avery," and, "We'll miss you."

August parked and opened my door for me.

"I smell a grill." He said, leading us into the backyard.

"Surprise!" Everyone blurted as he opened the gate.

The backyard was filled with family members, children, friends of family, and most importantly, my Grandpa and Austin.

The two attacked me with a hug, neither of them wanting to let go.

I hugged the two of them back.

"Austin, aren't you taking them to the airport?" Grandpa asked.

"Yes." He said.

"OK, so move and let me hug my granddaughter." He said shoving Austin slightly to the side.

"Always doing me wrong, grandad. Always doing me wrong." Austin said as he left and carried on a conversation with August.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay a little longer?" He asked.

"Codin, the girl has to go. Let her leave." Lizzy said, sitting in a lawn chair and sipping wine.

I tuned her out. "As tempting as that sounds, I can't. August and I have to get back to work, but you always visit us. I'm sure August would love to have you."

"I'll be there before you know it." He said with a bright grin as he hugged me and kissed my forehead one last time.

He left and joined the conversation with August and Austin. I smiled at the sight of seeing my three favorite men interact.
