Avery Jordan

"Babe! I'm ho--" I stopped mid sentence as I seen August stretched out on the couch sleeping. Lately, he's been working overtime trying to gather even more money to pay for our wedding with no set date yet.

I moved around the kitchen in silence as I put up the groceries, then headed up to take a shower. Fresh out two hours later, August was still asleep. Getting instantly lonely, I headed downstairs. Throwing my leg over his lap, I placed soft kisses all over his face.

As one of his natural reactions, he instantly cupped my bottom in his hands and kissed me back.

"Whea' you been?" He asked between kisses.

"Work and grocery shopping."

"Ya hair wet. You showered wit'out me?" He asked curiously.

"I did, but only because I know you're tired from all of the overtime you've been working."

"You could've woke me up." He said as his lips did a smooth transition from my lips to my neck.

"I should've," I mumbled quietly while leaning my head back to give him better access.

Letting him continue for a few more seconds, I stood to my feet.

"You remember our agreement: no sex until we're married." I smiled at him.

"Shit. I almost forgot," he said. "It'll be hard when you're walking around here wit no clothes on." He said as he unwrapped my towel.

"You can do it," I said as he followed me into the bedroom.

"Feel like cooking tonight?" I asked.

"I actually don't," he replied as he watched me put on clothes, which was something he'd gotten used to.

"Neither do I."

"So why you buy groceries if you ain't gon' cook 'em? I'm not understandin' your logic, Avery."

"Well, Bryson Tiller, at the time, I felt like cooking, but now I don't want to."

"So whea' you wanna eat?"

"Let's try something different. Ever had Indian food?"

"Nope."

"Done deal. We'll eat that," I said.
