Chapter One

Kerigan

So, I'm alive.

I'm not entirely sure how, considering I was thrown down a fucking well by the boy I was in love with's adoptive father.

Notice the was? Yeah, well you should have. He was once a sweet, loving, caring, perfect boy that had SOMEHOW fallen for me.

Yeah then he murdered my step father, right in front of me, and kidnapped me.

I had just blinked back awake when it seemed like the gravity shifted, and someone from behind me screamed "Bend Your Knees!" So I did. I screamed as I was shot upwards, feet first out of the well. I registered the starry endless sky above, wasn't it just like three pm?, and then grunted in pain as my legs buckled and I landed roughly on my knees on the cold hard ground. I groaned, my head spinning. Ben and Sally stared at me, holding hands, by all of our bags. Seconds later, Toby landed on his feet beside me.

"Are you alright?" He asks quickly in worry, bending down, pulling his googles up and his mouth guard down. His eyes flooded with such a familiar look, so full of worry and love, I almost forgot that he sliced Derek's head off. I scooted back a bit and grunted, standing up.

"I'm fine." I hiss coldly, and he frowned, his eyes closing off again. I internally winced, looking around. It was so dark here... Where's the moon? The sky was black besides the million stars, and the woods around us were thick and seemingly endless. LJ and Jeff popped up as well, and LJ looked at the well, then suddenly grabbed a thick door and threw it over the top. He turned to me and scowled.

"Listen, Kerigan. Stay. In. Line. Richard already wants you dead. DONT give him anymore of a reason to kill you." He hissed, Jeff looking jerky as he looked at the well, which I noted was in much better shape than the one on the other side.

Wait... Did we literally just jump down a well and come up in an entirely different part of the world? I thought in shock, and LJ scoffed.

"Darling, were in a different dimension." He grumbled, pulling the door off just as Tim came flying out of it, followed by Brian and EJ. I stepped back, wrapping my head around the information.

I mean, why the fuck not? I had just had my whole world flipped over, why not have my entire world just disappear, too?  Richard suddenly climbed out of the well, carrying himself upon his tentacles. I shivered in disgust, and looked away.

This just succeeded in me making eye contact with Toby, who had his mouth guard up again, but not his goggles. He raised an eyebrow, and I fought back tears. Almost simultaneously, everyone started walking, and when Richard brushed past me, shivers suddenly froze me as my breath came out in a cloud. Static filled my eyes and brain, screaming like when you left the TV on, and weren't fast enough to pull the VHS tape out. I groaned, and felt familiar arms wrap around me as my vision cleared. My head was pounding, and Toby was yelling.

"SLENDY! Y-YOU KNOW HOW B-BADLY THAT HURTS H-HUMANS!" He screamed, and I giggled slightly, more in a disassociated way than in a "I found the situation funny" way.

"Who's Slendy?" I inquired quietly, and Richard turned his blank face to stare at me. Even without eyes, I could feel his vision lingering on me in disdain.

Then, the weirdest fucking thing happened. I heard his voice in my head, and by the looks of it, everyone else heard it too.

"I am 'Slendy,' child. My real name is Slenderman." He said, and I winced, whining from his loud booming voice. I leaned my head against Toby's chest, and I felt his heart beat pick up in surprise.

"Let's get going." Jack mumbled quietly. Toby grabbed our bags and handed me mine. I slung it over one shoulder, slowly gaining my balance enough to stand on my own. Toby kept an arm around me just in case, and we began walking again.

This time, it only took minutes before we were out of the thick forest, walking through a dimly-lit street with bars and beat up shops on either side. It looked like that poor part of town that you weren't supposed to walk alone down at night. Strange characters passed us every once in a while, some calling welcomings to members of the group, most just staring at me in shock. And hunger. They all looked like they wanted nothing more than to devour me.

One particularly drunk- looking man with horns actually lurched for me. Toby, LJ, and Jeff all struck out, but I seemingly beat them by a second with a swift kick to his sternum, which knocked him off his feet onto the ground. Laughter erupted from the bar beside us, and we walked faster, my heart pounding.

The house we finally came up to was huge, even bigger than the one Richard had owned back home. It was terrifyingly huge.

Though once inside, everyone seemed to breath a sigh of relief. It smelled like a musty version of the house back home, but they all acted so relieved and happy to be there. Toby smiled and ripped his goggles and mask off, tossing them on a table before grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the stairs. I winced at his tight, shaking grip, allowing him to drag me around. Play along. Play along. I hissed mentally. He slowed, his smile disappearing as he frowned deeply, his eye twitching. He roughly pushed open a door and used my hand to pull me inside of what looked to be his room. I stumbled and turned, getting flash backs of the dream I had when we first started dating, of him forcing himself upon me. I shivered in disgust, trying to take my thoughts away from what they would inevitably drift to.

"T-Toby... Why are you doing this?" I whimpered pathetically. I felt tears welling in my eyes, and sniffled, pushing them back down. "Why did you kidnap me?"

"I'm trying to protect you. I wouldn't have been able to do that there. You have to realize how much I love you, Kerigan." He whispered, coming over and pecking my lips, his eye twitching. "I know I fucked up. But I couldn't just let him... Hurt you." He mumbled, as the boy I loved returned to him. He wasn't the monster anymore. I went to nuzzle his cheek, so desperately wanting him to still be MY Toby, that I almost forgot about the fact that he was a monster. I seemed to be almost forgetting a lot of things lately. Until, at least, I saw the ripped cheek. I recoiled, and he scowled deeply. "N-N-No, pl-please don't b-be disgusted..." He whimpered, cupping my face. His lightning eyes filled with water as he gently brushed his lips to mine.

"I'm scared Toby," I hissed painfully, "I'm so scared."

"Don't be; I'll always be here to protect you, darling." He whispered, and kissed me full on. I rebelled against my own thoughts, pushing them away. It wasn't like I was getting out of here any time soon. So instead of playing along...

Why don't I actually enjoy myself?
