CHAPTERS SIX
THEY CAME ALL AT ONCE, I tried to get away, but they were faster. They dragged me through the forest two of them held my ankles, dragging me, the other was walking in front of me. I dug my fingers in the ground, but that was no use. It wasn't until I stopped struggling that I realized we weren't in the forest anymore. Now we were in an empty field of grass, it was the field of grass were I lost Persephone.
Memories started to flood my mind, I could feel everything she felt that day. The sirens know how to torture you tie the point were you could end up killing yourself. They came to a stop when we reached the spot were Persephone got stabbed. I tried to get up but they each stepped on me, pinning me to the ground.
My arms instantly reached for theory ankles to get them off of me but I made the mistake of looking up, they morphed themselves to look like her. Shutting my eyes I cleared my mind doing my best to not listen to anything they had to say. Their breathing was getting closer to my face and it took all my strength to not open my eyes.
"Hades help me! Hades save me! Hades why didn't you do anything! You failure." Now they had her voice, my blood started to boil, I couldn't let it get to me. I could feel all the pain she must have felt that day, they knew exactly how to break me.
"Do you feel it? The pain, its enough to kill you isn't it my dear Hades. Oh, but that's just a small portion of what I felt. Do you care to feel more? To feel everything." The pain was unbearable I could feel it running through my whole body, it was a virus and I couldn't let get to my head.
Slowly I started to get my mind to focus on my breathing, inhale exhale, inhale exhale. I then focused on my arm trying to reach for my sword only it wasn't there, they must have taken it. So instead of using a sword I would have to use my dagger, I could feel it laying on my stomach. They were still chanting nonsense and I could sense it starting to get stronger.
After struggling for a while I found hold of it, the sharpness of it made me forget all the pain. Swiftly grabbing it from under my shirt I pierced it into one of the sirens ankle. The scream was loud enough to break glass, maybe even more than that. I took the advantage and stood up, my eyes were still closed and it was best I left them that way.
All the training I've done blindfolded was finally getting put to use, I knew it was going to be helpful one day. Letting my ears do all the work I charged forward to one of them, I got a hold of her and sliced her stomach. The other two started to run and to win the game I had to follow. Although they were faster they didn't have much of endurance and I quickly caught up.
Not wasting anymore time I aimed my dagger towards one of their throats, I then heard her fall. All that was left was one more to kill, but it wouldn't be as simple as the first two. Forcing myself I opened my eyes and as much as I regretted it their was no other way for me to kill her with them closed.
It was her, Persephone, elegant and absolutely breathtaking. My body was aching to touch her, to lay my lips on her skin, it was begging me to run to her. But I know better and those deceiving eyes were not Persephone's. The siren started my way, she knew exactly what she was doing. As much as I wanted to kill her then I couldn't she would be able to block my dagger if I darted it towards her. She was faster and even more powerful than any other siren I've ever encountered.
Stretching her arm she set her hand on my cheek, the sensation was bone-chilling. Grabbing hold of my neck she pulled me forewords, resting her forehead on mine. I forced myself to look into her eyes I had to pretend to be mesmerized. "Do you love me?" she whispered in my ear.
"Now why would you ask that? You know I do" I let the words leave my mouth calmly. She seemed to be a bit hesitant, I could see her planning something else. Ever so slowly she started to leave a trail of soft kisses down my face starting from my cheek and stopping at my neck. After letting her lips graze on my skin for a few minutes she set them close to my ear and let out a string of words,
"Stay with me Hades. We can have this whole world to ourselves if you do." Her voice was sultry, it wasn't making any affect on me, but I had to play along. What I did next was what I've been trying to avoid doing. Ah, but for love you'll do anything. You'll murder and you won't even regret doing it if time means being with the one you love.
For love is but a twisted thing.
So I grabbed her chin and aligned her lips to mine and finally set them on top of hers. Our mouths moved in sync and I grabbed a hold of her waist and I felt hear grin. Carefully I moved my hand to her throat placing it there lightly, but soon I dug my fingers into her. She let out a gasp and tried to get out of my grip, but I was run by rage and I had to kill her no matter how much it pained me.
Soon she stopped fighting, her body went loose and so did my hands. Everything then started to go back to how it was, the forest was forming around me. I found myself standing in the same spot I left all my belongings, it was as if nothing happened. Oh, and nothing did it was all a hallucination, but I passed nod that's all that matters for now. Killing those sirens meant that tomorrow I would have no obstacle, they gave me a free pass.
Sitting down I closed my eyes and tried my best to fall asleep, the image of siren Persephone was still in my mind and it wouldn't go away. Her pain was still running through my veins and I wondered if she did go through all that pain.n o t e
