CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

I MADE MY WAY to the podium she was standing on. My hands were shaking and my nerves wouldn't calm down. The sword in my hands was dripping blood onto the carpet staining all that is pure. Once I stood in front of her my heart started to beat faster–I couldn't control any of my senses. To be in her presence was to be in the crossfire between heaven and hell. She's divine.

My head was was down–I couldn't look her in the eyes. I kneeled down and my knees became stained with blood. The sword in my hand was still stained and before the blood could dry I lifted it up for her eyes to see. Everything that I've done up to this point is because of her–I'm under her control now. All the blood on the sword was now on my hands and they were still shaking. I felt the sword fall out of my hands and into hers. She stepped back and put the sword under my chin making me lift my head to look at her.

Her eyes were filled with the blood of the gods and the pain of the mortals. She walked towards her left and wiped the sword on the velvet wall. There was now a single stain on the nude colored wall that matched the carpet stains. Her footsteps were the only thing that could be heard in the room–all eyes were on her. She laid the sword in front of me and inspected my body.

Hands were settled on my face, my heartbeat became even more unsteady. Fingers were placed on my lips and I inhaled. "Welcome home." I picked my sword up and stood, my eyes couldn't look away from her. Her hand was in mine and I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. My lips met hers–they were soft, plump, and I couldn't get enough. "Young love, don't you just love it?" Atlas lives for ruining moments such as these.

The crowd chuckled and they all stood up. Persephone and I looked at the crowd, she spoke "Ladies and gentlemen of the kingdom welcome your new king!"

"Welcome king Hades!" They all took a bow and sat back down. The golden doors were opened and spring began. We walked down the aisle and out the door.

Pomegranates were revealed as the snow melted. Persephone picked one up and handed it to me. I opened the fruit, it's juice was running down my hands, and I handed it back to her.

She ate 12 seeds.
