“Babe, your phone is going off.” Zayn stated with a bored tone. We were cuddled on the couch, and I was too comfortable for any of us to move.
“Let it ring,” I squeal, pushing myself into Zayn’s chest a tad more.
“It’s been going off for over an hour!” Zayn exclaimed before my butt started vibrating. It wasn’t technically my bum, but Zayn’s front pocket. I growl, can’t my fiancée and I snuggle on the couch for five minutes?
“Pear,” Zayn begins, but I’m already pulling his phone out of his pocket and answering it.
“Zayn, can you tell Perrie,” Louis’ frantic voice cuts through the phone in a whisper.
“What’s up Lou-bear?” I ask my need for snuggling being satisfied for the moment by the tone of his voice.
“Pear-bear! Look, I-I screwed up big time,” Lou stuttered, his voice cracking. I sit up, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.
“What did you do?” I question. Louis takes a deep breath and whispers, “When Elle was out of town once, I s-slept with a girl named Amelia,”
A shocked gasp rips through me, causing Zayn to become curious in the conversation. He sits up and I shush him as Louis continues, “I know, I was stupid. But, the girl wouldn’t stop messaging me, so I finally emailed her to practically leave me alone and that I loved Elle,”
“And?” I question, Lou sniffling loudly on the end. His voice sounded tearful as he said, “Elle found it. Pear, I don’t know what to do! I love this girl and I was going to propose! But now she can barely look at me and it’s my entire fault because I felt lonely for a night!”
“Oh my God, Lou-bear,” I mumble as he starts whimpering.
“I want to make things right, Perrie, I really do. I-I can’t loose her, I j-just can’t.” He cried and I felt my heart break. Louis did love Eleanor, and he was heartbroken. I bite my lip to keep from crying myself.
Zayn looks worried and I feel bad that I didn’t put the phone on speaker.
“Can I talk to Elle?” I state finally and Louis sniffs loudly.
“That’s why I called actually. She wanted to talk to you,” He cleared his throat, trying to compose himself before he sees Elle. I hear him whisper to her, “Do you need anything?”
I hear Elle’s voice weakly straining, “No thanks.”
“Here’s Perrie, Elle.” Louis says softly and soon a pitiful voice mumbles, “Hello?”
“Hi Elle,” I hum.
“Perrie, d-did Lou t-tell you?”
“Yes honey,” I coo and she lets out a shaky breath.
“I was w-wondering if I could spend the night at your house tonight?” She hummed and I heard Louis protest, “No! I’ll leave, you can stay here!”
“Its fine, Lou. We both n-need to calm d-down,” She stammered.
“Oh, hold on Elle! Zayn’s phone is about to die. Can I call you on mine?” I lie, flashing Zayn a “help me!” look. Elle muttered in agreement and I say bye, ending the call quickly.
“What happened?” Zayn asked.
“Lou slept with another girl in the past and Elle found out today. They’re both pretty tore up.” I recap the events quickly and Zayn kept mouthing, “Oh my God,”
“That’s horrible,” He breathed out.
“They’re arguing about who’s spending the night with us,” I admit. “That’s why I hung up, so they could decide.
Zayn nods and says, “I’m shocked; Louis never seemed like the type to do that.”
“We can’t judge Zayn!” I scold. “We know how it gets when the other is away! Louis told me it was because he felt lonely, we should be lucky that we stayed loyal!”
“You’re saying cheating is ok?” Zayn asked incredulously, his tone raising. I frown, pinching the bridge of my nose as I even my tone out and scowl, “I’m not defending cheating, that is wrong. But if the person who strayed truly feels sorry and really loves their partner, they should have a second chance, right?”
Zayn held a straight face as he asked me, “Would you forgive me if I cheated?”
“Please don’t tell me this now?” I growl and Zayn chuckles.
“Baby, don’t worry I never have. But I’m asking a hypothetical question. Would you forgive me if I ever strayed?”
I stay quiet. Would I forgive him? Finally, in a small voice I clam, “I really don’t know.”
“It all depends on who you are and how you cope with things. Knowing Elle, she will forgive Louis later, on.” Zayn clarifies, giving me a bubble of hope for the couple.
In a dread-laced voice I crow, “What if she doesn’t?”
“We’ll have to pray that they’ll both be ok then,” Zayn groans, rubbing a hand across his forehead. From across the room, my phone rings causing me to jump away from Zayn and fetch it.
“Are you ok?” I ask before realizing that it may not be Elle who called.
“Pear, you’re not going to fucking believe what Harry told me!” Jordyn’s tearful voice ripped through my phone causing me to wince.
“Jo-jo breathe,” I instruct heading back to Zayn. Once I heard Jordyn’s loud sigh, signaling her deep breaths.
“Good job girl. Now what happened?” I ask cautiously. I hear Jordyn take another breath.
“He said that it’d be stupid if we moved in together,” She wailed.
“What?!” I exclaim, causing Zayn to sigh.
“Pear, don’t pull yourself in. Don’t pull yourself in,” He began but I ignored the comments and focused on Jordyn’s story.
“Damn it Perrie! You never listen to me!” Zayn snapped.
“Hey, Jo-jo, can I call you back?” I ask. Jordyn stops short in her rant and cheers, “Of course!” Once I heard the beep to signal that our call was over, I place my phone in my lap.
“I never listen to you?” I exclaim, glaring at Zayn.
“Yes! I know you want to help everyone babe, but you can’t. You just get pulled into everyone’s drama.” He crowed. Staring at Zayn’s sharp jaw and his serious expression made me burst into giggles.
“Perrie!”
“I’m sorry baby, I’m sorry.” I giggle again and Zayn chuckles.
“I’m sorry,” He added in his laugh. “I forgot that Jade, Leigh-Anne and Jesy to gossip with.”
“Shut up!” I snort before bursting into a fit of giggles again. After a short pause and several deep breaths, Zayn decides to remind me to call Elle.
“Shit! Thanks babe!” I hum, unlocking my phone and calling the latter.
“Miss Malik, I didn’t expect you to take years!” Eleanor’s teasing voice greeted me and she sounded less tearful than before.
“Hey! It’s going to be Mrs. Malik to you!” I retort and Elle’s chortle made me laugh.
“Do you still need a place to stay?”
“If you and Zayn don’t mind Pear; like I told Lou, I think we need some time apart-Louis and I.”
“Of course Zayn and I don’t mind! We’re always here to help, Elle. No matter what!” I add and I hear Zayn sniggering behind me. I lean back and smack his shoulder, causing him to groan.
“Thanks so much Pear! I’ll see you soon,” Elle sung.
“See you!” I cheer. The moment the beep rang in my ear, I fell back against Zayn.
“I’m such a good person,” I mumble. He pressed a kiss against my head and nudged, “A good person with another person to call.”
