“Eleanor, how do you feel about abandoning your friends?”
“What do you think the others think of you and Ms. Edwards?”
“Are you ok with leaving your friends to die?”
I suck in a breath as I push my dark sunglasses up on my face and push through the crowd of paparazzi. Thankfully, I left my hair down today so I could use it to shield my face as Louis held my wrist.
“Ignore them,” He said sharply, an annoyed expression growing on his face. He was constantly being harassed too and it was getting to the both of us. If he and I were being bombarded I can only imagine of Zayn and Perrie are faring.
Once we were out of the paps gaze- they moved onto Niall and Harry- Louis murmured, “This is getting ridiculous,”
“Tell me about it,” I sigh as he lets go of my wrist and entwines our fingers instead. “They act like I purposely left Jordyn, Carlie and Liz.”
“When they come back I’m going to get restraining orders on everyone who comes near you five,” Louis hisses as he pulls me into this little quaint restaurant where Zayn, Perrie and Liam were waiting.
I swallow my doubt and force a weak smile as we sneak over to a booth where a black quiff stood.
“They’re vultures aren’t they?” Perrie breathes out coolly. I slide in next to her while nodding. Zayn shook his head.
“I’m getting tired of what you two are being told. If I hear “how do you feel about abandoning” the girls again, I’m going to scream.”
“Preach!” Niall airily laughs, sliding in next to me.
Harry followed suit and said, “They keep asking if I hate you guys for not bringing Jordyn,” With a sad shake of his head and a dark chuckle, he continues, “She chose to stay and she must’ve had a good reason too,”
“It doesn’t ease the guilt,” Perrie whispered under her breath.
“Exactly,” I murmur back.
Niall hits my shoulder lightly and chastises, “Don’t talk like that Elle! You guys are the strongest people I know; don’t you dare feel guilty!”
“Ok, ok,” I sigh and Perrie pats my thigh in understanding. She knew better than anyone that the guilt was tearing me apart. The girls were locked up and we’re here suffering the effects of captivity. Perrie and I were unnaturally thin with gaunt faces and limp hair. We are far from gorgeous and beginning the path of recovery.
Whenever someone yelled or slammed a door I’d shy away and cringe. Perrie told me that she refuses to let Zayn see her naked and that she’s wearing an invisible chastity belt- thanks to Barney. We both marveled at the fact that we couldn’t even finish a meal- even if we shared the portion! We had to wear sunglasses a lot because we’re still not used to sunlight.
All I want to be is normal and Snake took that away from the girls and I. I’ll be damned if I sit around and wait for their deaths.
“Elle?”
I jerk my gaze upwards, smiling as I cock my head. “Yeah?”
Louis sends me a pitiful smile, “What will you and Pear get?”
“We’re probably going to get the rosette.” Perrie interjects quickly. The boys give her a confused look and she sighs. “It’s some grilled chicken covered green peppers and veggies and stuff,”
“Sounds great,” I agree, shuffling our menus together. I gaze down at me thin knees and try to ignore the sorrowful looks the boys of 1D tried to hide.
I don’t know what’s worse anymore: the sad looks or the constant questions.
A/N:
I’m sorry for the wait- I’ve been busy with school! I hope you enjoy Elle’s chapter! :)
