Halloween

So Halloween is next week, and I'm going to a party with my friends. The girls at lunch said the party was at Courtney's house. I asked her in the hallway, and she said it wasn't a costume party. Just a normal high school party. Courtney also said to invite some of the boys on my team. The party was on a Friday 28th. We have a hockey game that day at 6:00, the party is at 8:00. I might be a little late but I'll make it. So later that day I invited the boys, and the girls at lunch. I didn't know who was going. Well, I did know that Patrick & Andrew were invited by Courtney. I knew why she invited Patrick, I mean she is friends with him. But why Andrew?

So I went to the bus stop, and Emalee & Tyler were both there. She was laughing at something he said."So how are you guys doing, you guys going to Courtney's party tonight after the game?" I asked,"Yeah, I am" Tyler said,"I don't know if I want to go, I'll think about it. But I will watch the game." She said," Great!" I responded. I've never been to a party before though, and if I did it would have been a birthday party, or slumber party. "Have you guys ever been to an actual party?" I asked curiously, "No, I've never been to one." Emalee said, "I've been to one or two before." Tyler said, "They can get crazy. But I don't plan on going crazy at Courtney's party. If coach finds out then he'll kick me off the team." Tyler was right about that. In the beginning of the year, coach said if we ever went to a party we better be on our best behavior, and if we weren't then he'd kick us off his team. I wasn't planning on going crazy either. I on the other hand wanted to stay on the team. Anyway the bus came, and drove us to school. It was a pretty fast day. I mean it's been a fast year. Already November, basically. Leilani started calling Johanna, herself, and I 'the Leilani twins'. It's just something that shows we're the best group of friends ever! I think its silly, but Leilani does what Leilani does. And thats why I love being her friend. Later that day I went to play for my game. "You go to Courtney's party?" Artemi asked me before we went out on to the ice."Um, yeah I am. Are you going?" Now I thought he would say no but he actually said, "Yeah. I'm going." So that means Anisimov will be there as well. I knew for sure Jonathan wouldn't be going because he's the captain, and he probably wants to stay captain of our team. Are game started, and it went by pretty fast. The next thing I know is that my team is winning 4-2 right now with 2min left of the game. I don't think I scored though. No one said anything to me about scoring any goal. Well it was a fun game, and we won. My parents and my younger brother said 'good job tonight', so I'm assuming it was a great game for them to watch. I said by to them, and of course my parents said 'be safe', 'don't do stupid things', and 'have fun'. Emalee and I drove in her car to get there. Courtney's party, here we come.

When we got to the street Courtney lived on, at the end of the street had a bunch of cars, so we assumed it was her party. And it was. When we got there, there were people laughing, and talking, dancing to the loud music inside. When we walked inside there was no sign of Courtney any where. It was so crowded, that Emalee and I barely had any room. "Don't do anything stupid!" was all I heard Tyler yell from behind us. He had already left to find the popular kids. "Hey!" someone yelled, and I turned around, and saw that it was Kayla! "What are you doing here? I thought you couldn't come?" I asked surprised. She already looked like she was on a sugar rush. "I asked if I could go, and my parents said yes!" she yelled over the loud music, and people. " Great! Glad you're here as well!" I didn't like the fact you had to yell over everything. I was kind of tired of doing that. Emalee and I walked into the kitchen to get a drink, but it seemed like all was out was beer and liquor. I wondered where Kayla got the Sprite from, cause there was no way she was drinking that disgusting stuff. So we looked in the fridge, and found were she got the Sprite from. There was no way we were gonna find Courtney. We already lost the boys, and Kayla. "Cori!" someone called my name, I turned around, and saw Courtney, "How do you like my party so far? Is it fun or boring?" she yelled over the music, "It's very loud!" I yelled "Oh, yeah, sorry that it's so loud! Have you seen Andrew anywhere? I've been looking all over for him, there's to many people!" she yelled, now that I think of it, I have no idea on where any of the boys are. " I don't know? He must be here somewhere, he walked in with us!" then I saw at the corner of my eye that Andrew was on the backyard patio, with his back against the wall, "Oh I see'm! He's on the backyard patio just standing there!" Courtney looked to where I was pointing. "Oh! There he is! Thanks friend!" then she ran off to go see Andrew. I totally forgot that Emalee was by my side. She looked kind of bored."Hey you ok!" I yelled, "Yeah, I'm fine." "You know there's a bunch of words behind 'fine'!" I yelled,"Ok, fine I'm bored, and I can't find Tyler!" she yelled over the music. So I went with her to find Tyler. We found him talking in a group of populars. "Hey Emalee!" he said. He looked kind of relieved to see her. I was all alone. Everybody was lost in this madhouse. Until I bumped into someone."Oops! Sorry!" when I looked up I noticed that it was Artemi. "Cori?" he said confused sort of. "Oh! Hie!" he said now knowing that it was me. Am I really that short."Hie!" I yelled over the music. It was annoyingly loud, and Artemi was annoyingly cute in his blue & red flannel. Then he disappeared into the kitchen. I saw in the backyard that Courtney and Andrew were having a hugging moment. Wait is that why Courtney invited him because she liked him? And is that what she meant when she liked someone else? I'm assuming that now she likes him, and he likes her. Anyway it was cute."Is that Courtney hugging Andrew?" Jamie asked me,"Yeah it is, isn't it cute?" I could tell Jamie was heartbroken, yet a little mad that she liked his teammate, and not him. "I'm sorry Jamie." I said to him, "No, No, it's alright I don't even care, he can have her." and he walked away, probably to find Tyler. Then a group of kids came up to me, and pushed me. They picked me up, and said, "Watch were you're standing," and, "Aren't you that girl that talks to the creepy Russian kid that never talks cause he can't," "He knows how to talk." I said standing up for me and Artemi. "Your that one girl that plays on the boys hockey team, you must be a loner, since they're all boys. Loser!" and then they dropped me. I just looked at them, kicked one of them, and left the house to go outside. I sat by the curb, and cried. Then someone came up behind me, "Boo!" it was Artemi, "You ok?" he asked I just grabbed him in for a hug, and cried on his shoulder. I told him about the jerks I ran into, and how they made fun of him and I. He looked like he understood, "It's ok," he said assuring me," Now that your here it is." I said. I don't think he understood that. Good, I didn't want him to. That night Artemi drove me home. I texted all my friends that I left early because of those people. Artemi stood in the front of my driveway were he dropped me off, "Thank you again." I said to him, "No problem, Cori." he said with his proud smile. My dad opened the door for me, and said "Who's that? That's not Emalee" I looked behind me smiled at Artemi, and said, "He's Artemi Panarin. My other best friend." I said. That night when he took me home was one of the best nights ever. Artemi is such a nice guy. I'm proud to say that he's my best friend.
