Will You Be My Valentine

So, my new year was pretty awesome. I don't have a New Years resolution this year. I guess it could be, to get my hockey team to win the playoffs, and be the champions of the league. We were going into the playoffs. I had this little feeling that I knew for sure that we would win. But we don't know for sure who will win yet. We've kind of beat everyone in the league. We had a 12 game winning streak, and we're number two in the division. We'll probably make it to the final game, and blow it. Hopefully that doesn't happen though. It's February, the month of Valentine's Day. I guess you can figure out who will be giving valentines to who. I did tell Emalee and Kayla, about what happen at Jamie's party though."You did what!?" Emalee asked happily/surprised. "Yeah, Artemi kissed me, just like Tyler did to you." I said casually/confused on why she acted like that."Wow! Good job, you're lucky you guys have boyfriends. I don't really want one though." Kayla said."Oh, I'm not dating Artemi. He never asked me out." They looked at me confused."Wait then why would he kiss you?" Kayla said confused,"Yeah, then why would he?" Emalee added to what Kayla said. I was actually still wondering about that."Well, it's pretty obvious that, he likes me?" I said questioning myself. "Obviously!" They both said loudly. "Jesus, you don't need to yell that loudly." I said. It was really freezing at the bus stop. It felt like it was zero degrees outside. Good thing the bus came early. The girls were right about Artemi. He probably does like me. It's cool though, I mean, I do like him back. I think Andrew found out about Joey, because he was talking to Teuvo about something. And Courtney was talking about how Joey was sending Courtney a valentine. "What'd Andrew complain about?" I asked Teuvo."He was complaining about how this so called 'Joey' is sending Courtney a valentine. And Courtney never told Andrew about Joey, and I'm pretty sure Joey has never heard of Andrew Shaw. So he's worried Courtney might like Joey more than him." That was a good reason Andrew had to not like Joey. That would worry me to. "Joeys a friend of Courtney's. She doesn't like him. She told me." I said assuring Teuvo. Not that Teuvo probably cares, not unless he does."I really don't want Andrew being heartbroken, cause then he'll come to me, and complain & whine. And I don't wanna hear it. Although it is nice he comes to me to cry, but it gets annoying after awhile." Teuvo said. He did have a point though. It would be annoying hearing Andrew whine about Courtney. "Hopefully that doesn't happen." I just don't want them both heartbroken. It would be a tragedy

So it's been a week, the team has kicked out two other teams so far. If we get to the finals, then we will go against another league for state finals. That's when one of us will win the champions of the state. I so hope that's us, especially being the only girl on a guys team in the whole state. That would be an amazing feeling. I'm now an assistant captain! The reason why it took coach so long to choose assistant captain, was because he needed to know who really cared about the team, and of course was a good player. And that was a perfect spot for me. I'm so honored to be the assistant captain. So far Jonathan has been playing every game, but if he wasn't there then I will be.

Today's Valentine's Day, and I'm assuming my friends would get something from there boyfriends. When I got to the bus stop I waited for one of my friends to get here. After 10 min Tyler came to the bus stop, he had a little heart shaped box. "For Emalee right?" I said. "Yep, it is. Just a little $2 box of chocolates. I'm out of money after Christmas." I laughed a little at that. He was such a nice boyfriend to Emalee. Of course when she came to the bus stop Tyler gave her the box of chocolates, and gave him the same. They really could have kept there gifts, and said they gave the gifts to each other. "Ha! Wow, you guys got each other the same thing!" He laughed."I'm sorry, I didn't know." Emalee said with a laughing smile."It's alright, I don't mind." Tyler said smiley. They were even the same exact small boxes as well. It was funny at the moment. When I got to school everyone was buzzing about Courtney, and how Joey got her a valentine when she was dating Andrew. But when I got to finally talk to Courtney. I noticed she wasn't wearing the bracelet Andrew got her. That's weird, better ask her. "Hey, Courtney? What happen to the bracelet Andrew got you?" I asked curiously."Oh! Oopsy! I forgot I wasn't wearing it. I took it off because I had to shower, and I forgot to put it back on." She said. I looked at Patrick, and he looked a little confused. It's weird how you forget to wear the bracelet your boyfriend got you. I think Courtney might like Joey. When I got to hockey practice, Andrew was crying! No one had no idea why. Teuvo was by him telling him 'it's gonna be ok' and 'you don't need her when you got friends'. I figured it had something to do with Courtney."Andrew whats wrong?" I asked he looked up and said,"I'm gonna break up with Courtney. She liked Joey it's obvious, she isn't even wearing the bracelet I got her. I'm telling her after practice. I hope she knows how much she meant to me." He said then looked back down, and lightly cried again. "No, Andrew don't." I actually didn't want him to break up with her. But he didn't listen. I could tell Teuvo was happy that he got his friend back, but upset that his best friend was heartbroken. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears when he said that. And sure enough it was true. When I got to social studies, Courtney was crying. She came up to me, and hugged me. "I'm so sorry Courtney." I said hugging her back."Why would he think such a thing. I would never break up with Andrew for Joey." She said through her tears. "Joeys just my friend, and Andrew was supposed to be my boyfriend." She added. We sat down, and were quiet the rest of class. I need to talk to Andrew, and get him to ask out Courtney again. That's what I'm gonna do. Then he'll realize what he's missing. After class I went to find Andrew. "Andrew!" I called when I saw him,"What Cori. Can't you tell this is a bad day." I totally went straight to the point."Andrew you're all wrong. Courtney doesn't like Joey. She likes you." He looked at me, and said,"Sure she does. Let me guess she cried on your shoulder, and told you that, didn't she." He said, and he was right."Yeah that is correct. But those were real tears of sadness, and a heartbreak. Andrew, do you realize what you did? You better fix it until it's to late." I said in a hurry. "Fine, will see what happens tomorrow. I'll ask her out again, if she still likes me by then." He said then ran down the hallway to his next class. I have a feeling she will say yes.

Since we were so busy on the issue yesterday. I never said anything that happen to me. Well, when I was in the hallway coming back from the restroom, when Artemi stopped me in the hallway to give me something."What do you need Artemi?" I asked him. He went straight to the point by saying,"Happy Valentine's Day," he said with a smile, and gave me one single, beautiful red rose. He could have waited after school, but he decided to give it to me now. "Aw, thank you so much Artemi!" I said with glee. I didn't get him anything of course. He never asked me out yet. "I have to go, bye." He said, and waves goodbye."Bye!" I said, and blew a blow kiss. He's such a sweet boy. Anyway that's what happen to me yesterday. Today was a whole other story. When I got to school I saw Courtney still wearing the bracelet Andrew got her. She must still have feelings for him. "Hey, Courtney!" I said "Hie, Cori." She said weakly."You still upset?" I asked,"When will I never not?" She said back looking down. "What if Andrew asked you out again, would you say yes to him?" I asked just to make sure Andrew wouldn't make a fool of himself later. "Of course I would still say yes to him, even if every other girl hated me for it. He may be a nerd, and think things not clearly. But he's still the funny, smart, and best boyfriend I ever had. And I miss him." She said thoughtfully. Then someone came up behind us, and said,"It's nice to know you still think of me that way, cause I still think your the best girl in the world, Courtney." It was Andrew. Courtney turned around, and immediately hugged him. They had a little hug reunion, and then Andrew asked,"Courtney, will you go out with me, again?" He asked with a smile. Courtney overjoyed said, "Yes, Andrew of course!" It was a really cute moment to watch if you were here. I really felt happy for them, they were so cute together. Anyway enough with them two. Emalee got asked out on a date with Tyler today to go out for dinner. She was really overjoyed with glee. I felt happy for her. Everything was back to normal, for now anyway. Not saying something could go wrong, but you never know. This school year has been crazy.
