New Year At Last

Tomorrows New Year's Eve, and Jamie's having a New Year's party. Whoopy! Another party I can leave crying! No, just kidding, Jamie said the only people he invited was the team, and his group of populars. I invited the girls at lunch to go, so that I wouldn't be alone. I called Artemi for him to come over today, so I could say thank you. It was my brothers birthday the day before, and we went to a Bears football game. It was snowing during the game, and was really cold, it felt like it was 10 degrees out. It was a good game though, to bad they lost. Later in life Artemi stopped by, on time to. I can't believe he actually came though, there's still snow outside. I didn't really want Anisimov having to translate everything. I just wanted to see Artemi, and tell him 'thank you'. "Hie!" I said opening the door,"Hie," I didn't know if I should invite him inside, or just stay outside. "Cori! Bring your friend inside, and shut the door!" I heard my mom call from the kitchen."Come inside, well just talk in my room." When I brought Aretmi and Anisimov inside. They looked around for a moment until my mom said,"Who'd you bring inside Cori?" "This is Artemi and Anisimov, I've told you about them before." My dad was at work, so I wouldn't be hearing him complain how I brought two boys in the house."Oh, I remember now. Well welcome, I'm Mrs.Myers." She said as they shook hands."Alright then, if you need me mom we'll be in my room, we just need to talk for a bit." I assured her. I knew later she would want me tell her what boys an I were talking about. "Your mother is very welcoming." Anisimov said as we walked into my room."Sorry about all the posters on my walls." I felt a little embarrassed about that."It's fine, we don't mind." Anisimov responded. I sat down on my bed and Artemi sat next to me. Anisimov was just browsing around my room, looking at small things on shelves. Very curious man. Then Artemi looked at me, and pointed. "What's wrong, is there something on me?" I asked,"No, that," he said still pointing. Then Anisimov came over by us, and then said something to Artemi in Russian, and Artemi responded back to him in Russian. I was very confused."I'm confused what's going on?" I asked a little scared."Artemi says that 'he likes the necklace your wearing.' " I totally forgot that was why I invited them over."Oh! Yeah, you actually got this for me, Artemi. I actually invited you over to say thank so much for the necklace." While I said that, Anisimov was translating everything I had said. When Anisimov told Artemi, he smiled a red smile. It's cute when Artemi blushes. Then he said something in Russian to Anisimov, and he told me."What Artemi told me was,'I just thought it would be nice to buy you something pretty, for a pretty girl like you.' " I literally melted inside when he said that I was pretty." Your welcome." Artemi said with a smile. We decided to go outside for a while, and then they left. Before they left I said 'thank you' again, and hugged Artemi. It was a short time to talk, but I'll see him at Jamie's party tomorrow.

Jamie's party was late tonight, around 9:00. I figured I would be able to eat dinner with my family, then go with Emalee & Kayla, and drive to the party. But what am I gonna do all day? I mean there's still snow outside, and it's still to cold for me to go out there. My friends are used to the cold, they've lived here longer. But still I've gotta find something to do. I guess I could call Courtney. I haven't talked to her in about two weeks. Although I'll see her at the party, but she might not talk to me then. So I grabbed my phone, and called her,"Hie Courtney!" I squealed through the phone,"Hie Cori!" She squealed back,"So, how was your Christmas?" "It was boring, but I did get everything I wanted on my list, and my friend Joey came over!" She said excitedly through the phone. Who's Joey? "Well, who's Joey? You never told me about him." She actually never told me about this 'Joey'. "He's a guy I work with in California. I did tell you I was a model right. If I didn't then oops, I'm sorry!" Courtney said through the phone. Now she did tell me she was a model, but Courtney has a thing for forgetting things."You told me you were a model, but just not about Joey. Is he a nice guy, what'd you guys do?" I asked curious. "Of course he's a nice guy, and we went to Chicago to show Joey the city." "Sounds like it was fun." I responded,"What did you do over break?" "Well, nothing actually. I just hung out at home. I know boring, right." "It does sound boring. You're going to the party tonight, right?" Courtney asked,"Yes, I will be there later." "Alright, we'll see you later. I have to go. Bye!" "Bye friend!" And that was end of our conversation. Joey seems like a regular friend to Courtney. Anyway, later in life Emalee an I went to Kayla's house because she was the one driving us to the party. Jamie didn't live to far, just in the next subdivision. When we got there, it wasn't crazy like Courtney's party, but there were a lot of people. When we got inside Emalee immediately went to find Tyler. Kayla immediately went to the food. I wasn't hungry, I was still full from dinner at Applebee's. And again I was alone like last time. Ugh! We did show up a little late though. At 9:30 we got there. So I have an 2 hrs and a half until I can leave. "Hey Cori!" I turned to whoever called my name, and it was Teuvo. "Hie!" I called back. "How was your Christmas? Mine was great!" "It was ok, not the best but it was decent." It wasn't loud like Courtney's party. Just a lot of people talking. I saw Artemi standing in the corner, alone. Anisimov must have been there somewhere. I was on my way over to where he was until the clock struck 10:30, and everybody yelled 'only an hour and a half until new year!' While everyone shouted that I looked at the clock, and thought 'Really! It's been an hour!' And when I looked back at where Artemi originally was, he was gone. After that I didn't know where he went. I saw Andrew with Courtney, she was laughing at something someone said, as Andrew had his arm around her kissing her cheek. It was the cutest thing. Almost like a movie, or picture. Emalee was with Tyler talking with a group of other people. He had his arm around her, as she lay her head on his chest. They were having a cute moment as well. It almost made me jealous, and cry that my friends had boyfriends, and I didn't. But I would have cried in joy for my friends, not my jealousy. I had no idea were Kayla was. She was probably with Courtney, or eating pizza. The next thing I know another hour past, and there was 10min till midnight. I decided to go outside, and when I went out there Artemi was there. "Hie!" I said when I walked up to him." Hie." He responded. "You ok?" I asked him, he looked at little upset."I'm lonely." He straight up said,"I'll stay here with you." I assured him. We sat on the hood of his car, and looked at the sky. I heard everybody counting down from 20. While everyone was counting, I held Artemi's hand, and listened. Then everyone cheered inside. I saw Emalee and Tyler kiss, and hug. It was the same with Courtney and Andrew. Teuvo was popping a bunch confetti everywhere. I turned to look at Artemi, when I did he leaned in, and I just sat there. Before I knew it I was having a new years kiss with Artemi. I just went with it. A half minute later he looked at me, and said "Happy New Year." I totally forgot it was a new year after what just happened. The girls came outside as Artemi got in his car. He did a little musical.ly type of hand movement where he showed a half heart, and pointed at me. Then drove off. Anisimov didn't go with Artemi, Anisimov wasn't even at the party. I went home with the girls, and didn't tell them what happen with Artemi an I. I didn't feel like telling anyone about that. Emalee was really happy, and overjoyed about kissing Tyler. I was happy for her, just like I was for myself. It was the best New Years ever.
