eight - snow

"Josh! Wake up!"

Josh groaned, he didn't bother to open his eyes, but he answered.

"What's going on, Ty?"

"There's snow outside."

"Really? The first snow? Describe it to me."

"It's beautiful, it's white and fluffy; every flake has its own originality yet they're so similar. They're so bright. The trees are free of their leaves and the branches look gorgeous as they dip down due to the heavy snow piling up. The cars have their wipers on and the grass is gone. It's replaced by a white carpet."

"Are there any snowmen?"

Tyler laughs, he found Josh heart warming.

"No, not yet. There's not enough snow. But what do you say, when we both get out of here, we'll build a snowman together? Then, we can get some hot cocoa!"

"With marshmallows?"

Josh's eyes were bright with life and Tyler ate it up.

"And peppermint candy canes!"

Josh was savouring this as he ran his tongue over his dry lips.

"The delicious chocolaty steam tickling your nose, fogging up your glasses too. I wear reading glasses sometimes, and I love to sit by a large window and read a nice book by a lit up Christmas tree."

Tyler doesn't wear glasses, he didn't read. He didn't know how.

"That sounds quite heavenly if I must admit."

"It really does, doesn't it?"

Tyler imagined it, dreaming big.
