"Better. Enjoying that cupcake a bit too much now, aren't we?"

I think I just died a little bit inside.

His striking green eyes were staring at me, waiting for an answer. My mouth would probably fail me if I decided to speak, so I just smiled at him, hoping that it was the answer that he was looking for.

His grin faltered and my smile disappeared.

"W-what? Is t-there something on my t-teeth?" I asked, never failing to stutter and covering my mouth with tissue. Great.

"There's nothing on your teeth, Princess. Nevermind me. I want to know about you," said the mystery boy, bringing back his grin that was brighter than ever.

"M-me?" Grinning and calling me 'Princess' is not helping me with my stuttering at all.

"No of course not, Princess. I was talking to that wall behind you," replied the boy, dripping with sarcasm as he pointed to the wall behind my seat. Being the gullible girl that I am, I turned around to look at the wall and looked back at the boy - who was laughing so hard.

Bastard.

"Y-you looked at the wall! You actually looked at it!" wheezed the boy through his fit of laughter. My cheeks turned red from embarassment at his comment, so I decided to stay silent and look down while he laughed.

He stopped laughing.

"Hey, I'm just kidding. C'mon, Princess, look at me." He placed his index finger under my chin and tilted my head up. "I'm sorry for laughing at you, Princess," Okay, so maybe he could be kind, "but really though, tell me about yourself. Name? Hobbies? Talent? What are you doing here in the airport, anyway?" asked the semi-bastard mystery boy.

"I... Uh..." My palms felt sweaty from nervousness, he wouldn't stop looking at me.

"It's okay, just take your time."

"My name is Dupain Marinette Cheng. I mean! Marinette Dupain-Cheng, m-my name is Marinette Dupain Cheng. I don't h-have any talent r-really... I l-love to design clothes, which is why I'm f-flying to Paris, b-but the flight got d-delayed... So I stayed because my fam-mily left me here." Can I seriously say a sentence to this guy without stuttering?

"Marinette..." The way he says my name is going to be the death of me. "So you're the girl Emma's been talking about. Before I forget, my name's Adrien Agreste. I'm Emma's older brother, she told me you're 18?" I nodded. "I'm 19 and modeling is kinda like my hobby - I guess? Well, my dad forced me into it, but I learned to like doing it I guess."

"And I presume you're here for a p-photoshoot?" Goddamnit I almost said a sentence without stuttering.

"Saldy, no. I'm flying to Paris to meet my girlfriend."

Hold up.

He has a girlfriend?

"Y-you have a g-girlfriend?" Great - all my chances with this guy are gone.

"Yeah, her name is Lila, but we've never really met actually... We only talk through calls and texts and see each other through Skype. I don't know why, but she doesn't want me to meet her. She keeps on saying that it's too costly to meet her and stuff like that. I guess I just got tired of waiting, so I'm going to surprise her."

"That's so s-sweet of you..." His eyes brightened at my compliment. "Anyway, I-I'll go now, p-probably walk around t-to explore." I stood up and grabbed my messenger bag as fast as I could and brisk walked out of the bakery, leaving Adrien behind at the table. People whizzed by me as I made my way back to my seat at the waiting area. Fortunately, my spot was still unoccupied. I sat down and searched for my book in my bag.

It wasn't there.

"Looking for something?" I whirled around to see Adrien holding my book up with his right hand in the air.

"G-give it back!"

"Make me." I glared at him. "I don't think this shy girl I'm seeing right now is who you really are, Princess. We've got 17 hours together and I plan on bringing out who you really are."

Uh oh, that does not sound good. You see, I am perfectly alright with living a socially anxious introverted life, because it stops me from meeting people like Adrien who steal my lovely books.

"I know you're fierce and strong deep inside, Princess. Get. The. Book."

I stood up and jumped for it, he was a head taller than me and he was standing on his tippy toes which made him look like a giant compared to my size. The fact that he it looks so effortless for him to do that, aggravates me even more. I extended my body as much as it could possibly go, but I still couldn't reach it.

Unless...

I reached for the book again, but instead of jumping to reach for the book, I jumped and grabbed his forearm with my right hand. I pulled his forearm down and twisted it around his back - making sure I wouldn't break anything. I pinned his arm to his back with my right arm and held him firm with my left hand. I kicked the back of his knees, which caused him to kneel and groan as he hit the cold floor.

I bent down and put my mouth by his ear and whispered, "See, you can mess with my hair, my clothes, or my art materials, but you can never mess with my books. You asked for fierce. Consider your wish granted." I let go of his left arm, plucked the book out of his grasp, and plopped down on the chair as awestruck faces looked at me - Adrien's included.

"Beautiful and fierce? That's amazing, Princess," said Adrien as he plopped right down beside me on the bench.

"Are you trying to flirt with me? Or are you practicing how to flirt because you're scared you might mess up in front of Lila?" Normally I would blush, but right now, I'm still annoyed at the whole book situation.

Heat rushed to Adrien's cheeks which caused them to turn pink as he turned around from embarrassment.
