"Welcome aboard ML France Airlines, Mr. Agreste. Have a nice flight," said the bored attendant behind the counter as I retrieve my boarding pass from her grasp.
I tuck the boarding pass back in my bag, walk towards the entrance to the tube and stop to lean against the cool glass while while waiting for Mari. I take the time to look at her; Her raven blue hair was braided into a crown around her head, her black pant overalls made her look taller, and her make up made her glow in a way I couldn't explain. She was - wait no, screw that - she is beautiful. There was no denying it.
Snap out of it you blond flirty bastard! You have an even more beautiful Italian girlfriend who lives in Paris and is an heir to her family's business. Seriously man, what else do you want?
What the hell. Where did that voice come from?
I'm your conscience, dumb twat. Now listen to me, you have to stop leading Mari on! You'll end up breaking he-
"Kitty? What are you lookin' at?" asked Mari as she waved her hand from side to side in front of my face. I couldn't help but laugh and grin.
"Nothing... C'mon, Princess, let's get on that plane," I said as I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer.
We walked through the cool glass tube that connected the airport to the airplane. Beyond the glass were rows of airplanes from different airlines. I turned to the side to look at Mari; she was staring at the horizon beyond the window. The tip of the sinking sun reflected in her blue eyes, making them glisten and shine. I got so distracted by her eyes, so I didn't notice the step in front of me, causing me to fall.
Hard.
"Meowch!" I exclaimed as I rubbed my but and stood up. I looked up at Marinette who was clearly trying her best not to laugh. It wasn't working.
"What are you laughing at?" I asked.
"Me... Meowch? You actually said meowch?" wheezed Marinette.
"Hey, I like cats..." I mumbled as we entered the airplane. The flight attendant greeted us and asked for our ticket. We gave her our boarding pass and she told us to proceed up the stairs to the second floor. She told us that our seats would be in the third cabin on our left.
What did she mean by cabin? Mari and I left the flight attendant after she started giving us weird looks. We climbed up the stairs and were greeted by four rose gold cabins on each side. Mari and I shared confused looks as we entered the third cabin to our left with a silver plaque that said: FIRST CLASS 14 & 15 A.
Now I know why she was looking at us like that.
In front of us was a meter wide clear glass panel that displayed the scenery beyond. The floor was covered by a gray carpet that matched the equally gray walls. To our left, there was a bed - wide enough to fit two people - covered in a diamond white duvet with a menu on top. There was a small cubbyhole where we could place our bags and there were two complimentary hygiene kits. To our right were two beige lounge chairs with the words, "ML France Airlines" embroidered on the back with dark brown thread. Each chair had pop-up screens at the side and pop-up trays for when meals were served.
"This is..." drawled Marinette.
"Amazing? Yeah..." I murmured. Mari immediately took out her phone from her back pocket and motioned that she would be back in a while after the call.
