I woke up on the comfy bed in the soft pajamas I don't remember putting on. All my make up is gone, and my raven crown of braids are down in loose waves. I looked around the cabin and saw Adrien snoozing on the lazy boy with his mouth open - probably from exhaustion. I inhaled and exhaled deeply - clearly getting a scent of my rancid breath - and headed to the lavatory down the hall with my hygiene kit and extra clothes. I brushed my teeth for a good 10 minutes to get that horrible smell our of my mouth. Surprisingly, they had a shower that you can use for only five minutes, so I took my chance. I then proceeded to change into some high-waisted ripped jeans and a plain white v-neck, and black Converse. I put my hair up into a messy bun and headed back to the cabin.
Apparently we took off sometime while I was asleep. The pop-up screen of Adrien's chair had a little airplane displayed on it and it seemed as if we were almost halfway to Paris. I must've slept for a long time. A grumble snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked around to look for the source until I heard it again, but it came from Adrien's belly. I giggled and vanished down the hall and into the buffet cabin. I plopped two pieces of steak and a cup of mashed potatoes on the plate, grabbed a cup of water, and headed back down into the cabin. I set his food on the tray - that was apparently automatic - and tucked the pop-up screen back into the side of the chair.
I woke him up by shaking his arm, but his other hand instantly grabbed mine. I felt butterflies flutter in my stomach. This was it, I thought - until he removed my hand from his arm. It didn't hurt, but it shocked me enough and scared me enough to back off. I tried to lighten up the mood by making jokes.
"Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed," I remarked.
"Well, I wouldn't know since your fat ass took up pretty much the whole bed. Mind you - it's meant for two," he retorted.
What?
"Hey... Are you alright?" I asked as I slowly inched closer.
"Leave, Marinette."
"And why should I?" I replied, sounding all smug.
"I said leave, before I burst. I don't want you here," said Adrien in a calm, yet dangerous tone.
"Adrien..."
"Don't come any closer, and don't you even dare to try and touch me," snarled Adrien as he sent a death glare down my lane.
"Adrien... I..." I tried again.
"I said don't!" barked Adrien, sending shivers down my spine.
"What's your problem?" I asked, slightly terrified.
"You, Miss Marinette Dupain-Cheng, are my problem. I should not have bought you that cupcake. I should not have brought you out of your shell. I should not have treated you to a spa. I should not have removed your make up and fixed your hair. I should not have cleaned you up. I should not have treated you like I did, but do you know what I regret the most?" asked Adrien as he started get up from his chair.
"W-hat...?" I muttered as I backed out of the cabin.
"The thing I regret the most is meeting you and calling you, "Princess" when I should've treated you like a slave. Now get out!" shouted Adrien as he violently closed the door
I backed off and left the cabin with hot tears stinging my eyes.
What was that all about? I didn't even do anything to him. I got him food and that's how he treats me? He starts to shout and glare at me. I can practically feel his death glare following me wherever I go. I racked my brain to look for anything that might've caused him to react like that.
But.
There's.
Nothing.
That.
I've.
Done.
Wrong.
Shouting and glaring. Red hair. Shouting and glaring. Blue eyes. Shouting and glaring. All the memories started to flash behind my eyes. That one punch he promised he'd never throw. That one whimper I never thought I'd ever make. That one glare that made me stop. That one glare that made me cry. Those last four words he'd shouted at me. The last three months that I spent healing were nothing. He just ripped apart the stitches I placed on my own heart. That's not the Adrien I know. Correction - knew. Apparently he was the filthy bastard I knew he was. I'm so stupid and to think I was starting to fall for the guy.
I approached the flight stewardess to ask her if I could switch seats. Surprisingly, she said yes. I instantly dashed into the cabin once I saw Adrien leave for the lavatory. I took all my things and wrote a simple note. I left it on the bed.
To: Adrien
I'm leaving and don't come after me.
