"Mari, get up! Get up! Get up! Get up!" I opened my eyes and saw Tikki's flaming red hair in front of me and it'll probably be the brightest thing I'll be seeing for the rest of the day.
"Five more minutes..." I pulled the sheets up to cover my head, heart set on not waking up anytime soon. "But, Mari! We're leaving for the airport in 10 minutes! Mama and Papa are already putting your bags in the car," said Tikki as she yanked the sheets from my grasp.
"WHAT? 10 MINUTES! I HAVEN'T PICKED MY OUTFIT YET. Get out of my room, squirt. I need to get ready." I shoved Tikki through the trapdoor and rushed to the bathroom to take a bath.
Okay, so I might have forgotten to set my alarm.
I stripped my clothes off and turned on the shower, cursing at the scalding hot water that hit my bare back. That water burns like hell. After setting the dial to make the water warm, I grabbed the almost empty conditioner bottle and squirted a hefty amount of conditioner on my palm. The red loofa was hanging by the shower door handle, - I slipped while reaching for it - and an impressive chain of curse words automatically erupted from my mouth as my head hit the glass pane.
After a few more minutes of slipping and sliding, I finally finished taking a bath and headed to the already prepped toothbrush perched on the lip of the sink. I picked it up and brushed my teeth while picking out an outfit. Fortunately, picking out an outfit was rather easy because I packed all my clothes for Paris and the only selection I had to choose my outfit from was from the clothes I bought yesterday with Alya.
I took out the faded high-waisted skinny jeans, red tank top, white long-sleeved button down polo, and a pair of black Chelsea boots from the shopping bags. Realizing that I still had a toothbrush in my mouth, I rushed back to the sink and rinsed my mouth. I headed back to my room to put my clothes on and fixed my hair up into a messy bun.
After checking myself out in the mirror, I decided that it might get chilly in the plane so I grabbed the cat hoodie, checked my list if I would forget anything, and prodded down the stairs.
Mama, Papa, and Tikki were already in the car when I got in with mischievous grins plastered on their faces.
"I knew you forgot to set your alarm." I looked at Tikki in confusion. "I lied. You still had 30 minutes," said Tikki.
I am seriously not going to get her a souvenir from Paris.

"Don't worry, Tikki. I'll be back in a month. Just ask Mama or Papa to play tea time with you instead," I said while trying to keep my frustration out of my voice as I peeled Tikki's arms and legs off me.
"Marinette, dear, do you have everything with you? Passport? Ticket? Money?" asked Sabine in a worried tone.
"Don't worry, Mama. I have everything. I have to go - I might miss my flight." I checked my watch, cursing at the stupid traffic for making me late. I quickly hugged my family, pressed down on the handle of the cart, and pushed it until I entered Zagtoon International Airport.
The airport was very crowded. I'd do anything to make sure the waiting area wouldn't be as crowded as this place. People of all races hustled and bustled around with their carts and family members. Some people waited for their loved ones on the metal chairs lined up by the wall, others were sending their family and friends off to see the world. Children ran around the area, weaving through the crowd with frantic parents following after them.
