Chapter 8

Shane's P.O.V

No  . No . No. No. No !

How could he !

I know we're not dating but I'm just sad to see Joey and Sawyer together .

I thought we might have had a chane...

"Shane ! Wait ! " Joey called after me as I got up from sitting on the front step.

"Sorry I just needed some air after... uh , that . "

"Shane , there's NOTHING between us ! Sawyer confessed to me today and I rejected him ."  Joey told me .

I perked up a little .

I know that I'm falling for Joey but I'm scared to confess . Hell , even Lisa had to ask me out !

"He just asked for a kiss , and he got a little too into it ." Joey flushed.

I hugged him . I didn't care if I had to wait for Joey to fall for me. I didn't care that he just kissed Sawyer . I just want him to know that I'm here .

He awkwardly hugged back , before smushing his face in my shoulder .

"Can we just stay like this for a while ? " He asked .

"Ya , we can." I said as I rested my chin on his shoulder.

And we stood there , both our minds racing , hearts beating in sync.

A week passed since the whole Sawyer thing and Joey and I have gone on a few "dates".

Ok well not "date" dates , but we've been going out to eat , to movies and stuff like that .

I like to think there dates and I hope he does too .

Sawyer decided to leave for a while and go to his parents house . One of Joey's friends said they even saw him at a gay bar .

I shook my head , forgetting about Sawyer and , smiled thinking about Joey and my night as we planned on watching Titanic with "chick-i-ty anyas " for dinner , as Joey says .

But my heart skipped a beat as I saw her .

Lisa stepped out a blue car with tinted windows and leaned in to kiss the mysterious driver as she walked into the CVS.

So much for our break .

I had to get make up and confetti for the Birthday spoof at CVS and hoped I wouldn't run into her .

I quickly ran to the make up aisle , sort of embarrased that I knew exactly where it was , and saw Lisa looking up at me .

Shit ! , I thought as I awkwardly lifted two fingers in greeting .

"Hey Shane. " she smiled as if nothing had happened before she walked in here .

Is it just as bad that she kissed another guy while I'm falling in love with someone too ?

All of this during our "break" .

I really wanted to cut it off , and decided a public place would be best so she couldn't get too upset , not like she would anyways.

"Lisa... I saw you kiss that guy in the car before you walked in here . "

She blushed and looked away .

"So why don't we just cut it off ? I got a place to stay and-"

"And I'm guessing it's Joey's place ? " she said smugly , looking me dead in the eye .

I stiffed up . " How did you - "

"Oh please Shane . Who else would you ask ? Who else would just invite you in ? Joey obviously likes you. " She scoffed .

"Joey liking me ? Please . He's just being a good friend. " I choked as I said friend.

"Ya sure... so you can look me in the eye and say you have no feelings for him ? Do it. Right now . "

I swallowed . I sort of wanted to prove it to her . "I feel nothing - " But I started coughing as Lisa started to laugh .

"Shane , I don't want to be enemies . I'll support you and Joey because I still want us to be friends . "

She looked like she was serious , and there was no reason to hate her . I'm just as guilty for falling in love as she is for kissing that guy .

"Fine we're good . " I said as she hugged me with one arm .

"And also, your mom told me about the Birthday spoof you're planning to do . Can I please play someone ! " She begged .

I laughed . " Sure, I'll find someone for you to be ." I said as she squealed and left the store .

Did she even come in to buy anything ?
