Chapter 74

"Kelly, i need to go back. Rydels waiting for me-" I start but Kelly cuts me off. 

"Rydel? You're still going to be with her after whats happened between us? That magical feeling you told me you had?" Kelly raises an eyebrow and turns away from me. 

"Kelly, I'm married to her. I can't just dump her for you, who i saw for the first time in over ten years yesterday!" I just can't do that, to Rydel, to anyone. It's not right, even if what you feel for the person is strong. 

Kelly spins around, "You didn't seem to be thinking that when you were kissing me!" she cries her eyes squinting as she tries to keep her tears back. 

"Kelly." I murmur stepping towards her and gently stroking her cheek, "Look lets go back and talk about it okay?" 

"With Rydel?" Kelly asks me incredulously, i nod and she lets out a harsh laugh, "Rydel hates me, why would she talk. Especially about this." 

"She doesn't hate you." I protest. 

Kelly nods, "Yeah she does, she can't stand me." she laughs again, "she thinks i'm going to steal you away, even though i had you first." 

"Kelly...." I trial off as words escape me. 

Kelly takes my hand, "Lets go, we can go back, see whats going on and you can see what you feel, okay?" I nod and Kelly pulls me towards me car, "lets go." she says urging me into the drivers seat.

"Rydel! Why are you crying? What's wrong?" I wipe the tears away before looking up. 

"I have good ears." I mumble, I'm not able to contain it anymore and tears starts to fall once again. 

"Omigod! You heard us, Rydel i'm so sorry!" Riker exclaims kneiling besides me. "Rydel looks at me, that probably won't happen okay?" 

I look back up at Riker and he wipes the tears off my face, "That's better, much more beautiful." he mumbles pulling me into  hug. 

God i love my brother. 

"Awwww." Nova mutters from behind us. 

We both turn and look at her, she blushes and makes a 'go on' motion with her hands, "Sorry that was cute." she mumbles blushing. 

I let out a forced laugh, "its fine." I say with as much happiness as i can muster (which isn't much let me say that). 

"Rydel that was very obvious that was fake." Riker says in an undertone. 

My smile drops, no use faking it if its obvious its not real. I hear the front door open and my head flips towards the door. I see Ratliff and Kelly walk in, Kelly looks uncomfortable. Good, she better be! I see Nova and Riker exchange nervous glances but i shake it off, i'm more preoccupied with Ratliff. 

Ratliff looks over at me and smiles, my heart sinks. That's not a real smile, that's a nervous 'i'm hiding something smile' that's his 'this might not turn out well smile' its his 'there's no turning back now, i'm sorry' smile. 

"Hey Rydel, i hope i wasn't gone to long." Ratliff says, wow he doesn't even notice i was crying. He always notices, even when i wasn't crying he would notice when i was down, now there's nothing. 

"No, it was fine. Um Ratliff i have something to tell you." I say my voice coming out in a broken whisper. 

Ratliff frowns, "What's the matter? Rydel are you okay?" Ratliff takes a step forward as i take a step back.

"Ratliff, i'm pregnant." I search his face for a reaction but there is non, he's just standing there staring straight ahead. 

"Some one catch him he's gonna-" Nova cries when Ratliffs eyes roll to the back of his head and he falls backwards onto the ground before anyone can move, "faint....." Nova trails off.
