Chapter 10: Conffession
Shelby's POV
I entered Kronos' room, following him. Kelly and Dr. Thorne were behind me. I couldn't tell whether Kronos was angry or not. Sure enough, he was walking fast, his hands in tight fists, but he did not need to be angry.
I had looked at the demigods before I left. They looked defeated and many of them were either dead or fataly injured.
But I was scared about one thing -- I was feeling sad and concerned about Leo. Why was I? He deserved the arrow, didn't he? He insulted dad and helped killing him.
Kronos swiped his hand across the wall and a couple of swords and shields clattered to the floor. "The nerve of Jackson!" he bellowed.
Oh, he was upset about what Pery did. I gulped and stepped back. An angry Kronos wasn't someone I'd like to confront.
"How dare he cause an earthquake! That little cowardly scum" Kronos raged. Okay, now I was getting a little scared. I had never seen Kronos like this and I didn't even want to experience the effect on others.
It obviously wouldn't be very pleasant. And for some reason, I felt as if I was going to suffer the most.
"Lord Kronos" Dr. Thorn said in a strained voice. I could tell, he was a little scared, too.
"What?" Kronos barked.
"I looked at the army of the demigods. They looked bad, defeated. A big amount of them were dead and a lot of them were injured. If we attack again by tomorrow, then they will definitely lose. They don't have the strenght or capibility to fight again so early" Dr Thorn explained.
This was the first thing that he said that I actually found useful. Kronos turned to him. He took a sharp breath. I could tell he was trying to calm himself, but anger was still plastered on his face and his eyes looked deadly.
"And what makes you think, Thorn, that we are in the condition of fighting a battle tomorrow?" he asked. "Monsters have also died. Some of them have returned from Tartarus but these many monsters are not enough" he growled.
Dr. Thorn stiffened. "We could wait till tomorrow morning and see how many monsters have returned. Accordingly we can attack" he said.
"You fool! What makes you think the Gods won't help them in trying to defeat me?" Kronos yelled. Man, he was mad. "I'm their main enemy, the demigods are just their slaves, who do their work and while they sit and plan my death."
I winced. I didn't want Kronos to die, again.
"A few of you useless monsters are not enough against the Gods!" This time, Kelly spoke.
"Lord Kronos, a plan just formed in my head. You don't need to worry about the Gods. I have a solution for that" she said.
"What?" Kronos barked.
"Me and maybe a few other monsters and of course Shelby can travel t the underworld and try to capture Thanatos while you can help us from here, in which case he wouldn't be able to capture or try to kill you but when he gets captured, we can bring some of the most dangerous people and monsters - Typhon, Echidna, Media, Midas, Medusa and the others" she said.
Personaly what I think? : The idea was good, well, brilliant, but Thanatos wasn't a packet of chips in the kitchen and difficulty we had to face was the mother, he was a God and the difficulty we had to face was fighting him, fighting his supporters in the Underworld and fighting the God of the Underworld. Easy as a pie, wasn't it? And me? Why did I have to go? Why was I a part of this?
