"Fuck you!" Danny shouted, sprinting downstairs. I doubled over in hysteria when I saw him.
"You look like an orange porcupine." Wiping the tears away, I began to laugh again.
"Danny, you look wonderful!" Percy said with a sly smile and quickly snapped a photo. It was a wonderfully relaxing day, and everyone was having fun. I personally think it was well overdue. Leo came downstairs with his bed head and rubbed his eyes.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm fucking tired." Leo groaned.
"Where the hell did Percy go!?" Danny growled.
"He's in the living room." I answered. We were currently all in our own way of relaxing. I was laying on the couch and reading when Leo came down and yawned."Nobody else is tired. We've been up since nine." I answered, practically shoving my nose into my book. I can't help it if it's a good book.
"Where's Jacob and Nova?" Leo asked, strolling into the kitchen.
"Basement. They're testing out something that could potentially make the world explode." I joked. Leo sprinted over and slapped my book away.
"What!?" He exclaimed.
"I'm only kidding. They're in the basement. I don't know what they're doing." I picked my book up and set it on the table. After a few minutes, Percy and Danny had finished their fighting and Ryan and them decided to go to the skating park near our house. Jacob, Leo, and Nova were hanging out for a brotherly bonding time. Jack still hadn't come downstairs so I began to become curious.
"That boy always disappears." I mumbled to myself and jogged upstairs. When I opened Jack's bedroom door, I found a note saying: Dear Iris, I know it's you because you get so worked up when I'm not around. Don't worry, I'm fine. I just left at three in the morning for some work at North's workshop. I'll be back around two in the afternoon. Bye, love Jack.
Sighing, I set the note down and walked back to my room.
It's been awhile since I've had some girl friends and being stuck with boys isn't really helping. Maybe I should go out and meet some new people.
Changing into some new clothes, I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs. Before I left, I walked to the basement and stared at Nathalia's grave. It's been well over six months since we killed her. But still, I wanted to believe that I still had an older sister. Why did she have to change?
As I was walking around the small town of Burgess, I sighed and went straight to my favorite coffee shop,
"Regular please." I smiled.
"Umm... What's your regular? I only started working here." The blonde girl with the snobby attitude rolled her eyes.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't know." I began, but she cut me off.
"Yeah I can tell. You're like a dumb blonde." She smirked and turned away.
"Too bad, because you look and act like one." I smirked. The girl stopped mid-turn and glared at me. Before she could say anything else, a boy moved in front of her.
"Here you go, Iris. Hope you enjoy it." He smiled.
"Thanks Mason." Taking the cup of coffee from him, I gave the blonde girl a fake smile and left. Sipping some of the warm coffee, I began walking to a few of my favorite stores in hope that I would find a new friend. Instead, I got one of my old clients.
"Iris!" Tina called out. Looking across the street, I saw her and my eyes filled with joy. I flew over the traffic and hugged her tightly.
"How are you? Oh, I've missed you so much." She smiled warmly.
"It's been great. There were ups and downs but it's been really nice. Where's the little kid?" I looked behind her to see her and Jamie's child.
"Angela, this is Iris." Tina introduced her.
"H-hi." She whispered. I smiled gently and held my hand out.
"I'm Iris."
"Hi Iris." She gave me a tiny smile. Looking behind me, I made a stuffed bunny appear in my hands and handed it to her. Her small little face quickly filled with happiness and glee as she hugged the bunny tightly.
"I better get going. I'll see you guys." I took off and flew around while sipping my coffee. After awhile, I came to my favorite store and opened the door. The sound of the familiar bell made my heart warm up as I stepped inside. Once I closed the door, I ended up taking a stroll down memory lane. I would always come here with Leo to get new toys and clothes. And when I was twelve, I would be shopping here for clothes that I wanted and not what my parents approved of. That was when my grades began slipping. I should probably clear that up. I am extremely smart, but I'm also very, very lazy. I had decided that if I was that smart, I didn't need to work. So, I never did anything I was supposed to, yet I aced all of my tests.
I decided I had enough of this and quickly began speed walking home. I ended up near the pond where I fell down and took a seat. It was July so the pond was still water. As I stared at my reflection, I sighed and buried my head.
"Iris." Someone whispered. My head snapped up, and I looked around.
"Iris... It's me..." The voice whispered again. Who the hell was talking to me?
