Waking up to someone shaking me, I blinked a couple of times and realized I was in the living room still. Sitting up, I saw Iris still laying there but a different position.
"Iris..." I whispered. Tears had stained my jacket and I sighed. Everyone was eating and I walked over. Grabbing an apple, I tossed it around before finally eating it. Sitting down on the couch next to Iris, I laid there and sighed.
"Is she going to be alright?" I asked to Manny. He didn't reply; Jerk. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw someone move. Sitting up quickly, I watched Iris get up.
"Iris!" I yelped. Running over, I tackle her in a hug.
"Jack..." She whispered. Before she could say anything else, I brought her to my room. Setting her down carefully, she looked up at me. Her eyes flashed red and I jumped back, gasping. She closed her eyes tightly.
"No... I can't think of anything like that. Jack..." She whimpered. Falling forward, I caught her quickly and hugged her tightly.
"I'm here, don't worry." I rubbed her back.
"Jack, I'm so sorry. I wanted to come and save you but I forgot your staff. Then, I got caught up with trying to kill Nathalia and I'm pretty sure Pitch was the one that attacked me. I'm so sorry." My back was now soaked with tears. I pulled away from her and smiled.
"And I'm just happy you're alright and I'm so sor-" Once again like I do every time when I want her to shut up, I stopped her by pressing my lips against hers and she immediately faltered. My arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer.
"Iris, I love you. If anyone should be sorry, it should be me." I mumbled.
"Oh Jack..." She fell into my arms and wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Oh my gods, I love you so much." I smirked.
"And I love you too." She whispered. Her breathing slowed down and her eyes were closed. I laid her down on my bed and pulled a cover over her, smiling. She was back. And I couldn't be any happier. I sat at my desk and sighed.

"Iris, you okay?" I asked. She moaned and then sat up. Sitting down next to her, I put my arm around her and smiled. When she looked up at me, her eyes flashed red again.
"Jack, help me... My eyes are flashing red whenever I see you, and my brain, it wants to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you." She cried. My heart was breaking seeing Iris like this. She was not supposed to be crying, she was not supposed to look weak, she was supposed to be happy, and full of energy. I hated seeing her like this.
"Shh... Iris, we'll get through this together. I promise." I whispered, kissing her forehead. She nodded, clutching onto me.
"Jack, no matter what I do, I still love you." She whimpered. I nodded.
"I know. Now, get some more rest." I smiled. Kissing her real fast, I chuckled and she smiled back. Laying down, she pulled the covers over her head and went to bed. Once I was sure everyone was asleep, I grabbed my staff and flew out the window. Flying to Pitch's underground layer, I barged in and tackled him.
"How dare you hurt Iris!?" I yelled, making ice shoot at him. I growled and tackled him again.
"Calm down Jack, you know I didn't mean it." Pitch smirked.
"Yes you did!" I yelled, punching him.

Walking home, I noticed the blood on my hands. Pitch was gone this time for good. I wiped my hands against my jeans and sighed. Once I got back home, I quietly snuck in through the back door and tip toed upstairs, careful not to wake anyone. It was quite easy though, Leo, Nova, and Jacob were still downstairs. Percy, Ryan, and Danny were all asleep in the living room from their little "gathering". Those idiots... Finally, I made it upstairs and quietly creaked the door open. Iris was still sound asleep on my bed and I set my staff down next to the door. I decided to wait until morning to tell her. Flying downstairs, I grabbed a midnight snack and continued to do other items of business. I headed downstairs with food for Nathalia. She was still wide awake and I handed her the tray of food. By then, I was still pretty aggravated by her but I held back. I sat down at my desk upstairs and twirled my pen. What to do? What to do? If I had defeated Pitch, does that mean Iris is alright? Her eyes may not turn red. Finally, morning came around. I was about to fall asleep when I heard shuffling. Turning around, I saw Iris sit up and I ran over.
