My heart skipped a beat. "Now or never." I thought to myself.

I took a deep breath. "It was my fault, I am so sorry." I whispered, not recognizing my own voice. I haven't heard it in two years, and it sounded completely hoarse, "Thank you so much for helping me up. . ."

"No, I should have watched where I was going, but you're very welcome, Miss." He said, softly.

"Oh, please. Call me Bayleigh. . ." I looked down, trying not to blush.

"It's very nice to met you, Bayleigh. I am Josh."

"I know who you are," I laughed softly, "I am like your biggest fan, even if that is what caused me to become mute for two years." I whispered lowly, looking at his face.

"Why would you become mute, Bayleigh?" He asked, letting me melt just as our eyes meet for the very first time in real life.

"Because, I have nothing to say to the people that hate me, so everyone that I come in contact with." I murmur, unable to look away from his gorgeous hazel eyes.

"How could anyone hate you, Bayleigh? You seem like a nice girl."

God, the way my name slid from his tongue made chills climb throughout my pale body that was absorbing the 70 degree weather of the California setting sun. His lips formed in a perfect curve when my name escaped and I swear every time he says it, my heart begins to thump against my rib cage, "Thank you, Josh. But everyone does hate me. It doesn't bother me anymore, they hate me because I am too annoying." I whispered gently.

"Why would other people think you are too annoying?" He smiled an alluring smile, "you seem like you're a pleasant girl to be around."

"That's because you haven't gotten to know me." I mumbled.

"Maybe we should get to know one another, Bayleigh. Do you need a ride home? It's going to get dark soon and I do not want you walking in the dark. I could drive you." Josh offered.

I thought about it for a second, about to deny, but realizing: why should I? This is a one in a lifetime chance. There was no way that I would ever get this kind of chance again. Besides it was going to get dark soon and I did live far enough away that it would take me at least an hour and a half to get home. I let a small smile take over my lips, "I'd like that, Josh."
