Some Nights - Chapter Ten
Kneeling down, I pick up the kunai that I had dropped earlier. I look up, analyzing Kakashi's reaction to my previous move. He stands there, appearing to be dumbfounded. He slowly lowers his kunai as my clone vanishes into thin air. After a few moments of what had seemed to be a staring contest, Kakashi raises up his hand and scratches the back of his head, chuckling slightly.
"You've honestly impressed me with such basic tactics. I wasn't expecting strategy from any of you. However, you did realize that you could not take me on by yourself, so you made a clone.. Good job." He continues to rub the back of his head, appearing to be embarrassed.
"Maybe you shouldn't underestimate people before you fight them." I slip the bell into my front pocket, looking up at Kakashi. "I still have a lot to learn."
His eyes widen only to return to their normal size a moment later. "I see. You have potential, Amaya."
"I'm glad that you think so." I murmur, shifting my weight to my other side. "However, don't you have other students to test? Or are you just going to wait until it is noon?"
Kakashi sighs, lowering his hand to his side. "You're right, I had almost forgot. Oh, and as you're finished, my suggestion would be to go wait by the three posts."
After giving me a one eyed smile, Kakashi vanishes out of my sight. I sigh softly, catching my breath for a moment. My muscles tense and ache, forcing my breath to hitch slightly. Due to the fact that I do not get enough sleep, my body takes a lot of damage when I use it. If only someone in my village was still alive; I'd be able to fully master my kekkei genkais and become stronger.
I slowly stand up, grimacing at my sudden lack of energy. Shaking off the feeling of pain, I slowly stride back to the three posts. I keep my eyes opened, watching out for any traps or signs of my teammates. There does not appear to be any movement at the moment, so I silently walk through the forest. I hear the faint sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves as I advance towards my destination. Upon hearing a high pitched scream, I freeze immediately in my tracks with my guard up. The high pitched scream must have come from Sakura, or at least I would hope so; I do not think that it could have come from Sasuke and it did not sound like Naruto's scream. I quicken my pace, aiming to not interfere with any sort of battles between Kakashi and my team mates.
The thick forest seems to disappear as I approach the posts. A clock rests up on the middle post, warning me that it was almost 1:00. A sudden movement catches me by surprise, my head focusing on the direction of the strange occurrence. Struggling profusely, a familiar blond kicks his legs frantically. Naruto appears to be completely tied up against one of the posts, yelling and whining. I roll my eyes, approaching the impatient blond.
"Naruto, what on earth did you do to end up in this mess?" I roll my eyes, scanning the area in case of potential threats.
He looks at me, tears dramatically streaming down his face. "Kakashi-sensei tied me up! He wouldn't let me eat the lunches!"
My eyes slowly drift towards the lunch boxes stacked up, just out of Naruto's reach. "You idiot, you honestly tried to take a lunch box expecting that Kakashi wouldn't notice? You have to be kidding me."
"B-but.. May-chan!" Naruto's dramatic tears increase significantly.
Rolling my eyes, I sit down and lean against the pole on Naruto's left. He puffs out a breath, clearly frustrated. "Why are you here and relaxed, May-chan?"
Glancing over at the confused blond, I pull out the bell that I took from Kakashi. "I already got a bell, Naruto. Kakashi sent me back here."
"WHAT?!" Naruto yells, mouth dropping to the floor. "But.. how?! Kakashi is super strong! Like, way strong! Believe it!"
