Some Nights - Chapter Eight
Tossing my sheets off of my body, I get out of bed and groan in annoyance. Sleep would be very helpful every once in a while. But no, humans definitely don't need sleep! That would just be too much to ask for! I get up and run my fingers through my long hair, still in it's classic style: the ponytail.
I stumble sleepily to the bathroom, bumping my hips into almost everything. I hate being 12, it's such an awkward age. Especially when you're tired. I try to find the light switch, which takes a couple seconds, and finally turn the lights on.
My lovely, just perfect face greets me in the mirror with the appearance of a dead beaver. I think sleeping would allow me to look better when I wake up. I stare at the dark bags underneath my eyes and groan again. I feel like a zombie right now. Brains wouldn't be too bad.. Okay, I definitely need to wake up now. It's scary.
I wash my face, allowing the cold water to wake my body up abruptly. My face tingles at the sudden cold. Turning off the water, I dry my face on a towel, trying to regain the heat I just lost. Opening a drawer, I pull out my makeup bag and proceed to put on my everyday makeup: eyeliner and mascara.
Zipping up the bag, my gaze travels to the clock. I have about 10 minutes until I'm supposed to be at the training grounds. I shrug it off, knowing Kakashi will be late as usual. I pull out the elastic band holding my hair up. My long hair cascades down my back. I brush the naturally straight hair out and brush it back up into a neater ponytail.
Wandering back into my room, I remember that I bought new clothing. Digging through the bag, I pull out my fish netting. I slip on my new green tank top then my black sleeveless shirt. On the back of the shirt, which forms a "T" in the back, is a small forest green paw print that appears to drip. The Amaterasu clan symbol. I pull on fish netting on my arms and black leather bracelets. Putting on my black jean shorts, I slip on my thigh-high fish netting on my legs, and pull on my black tie up combat boots. I grin, feeling more free than usual. Wearing lighter, thin clothing is better for combat.
I definitely am ready for this spar - I highly doubt the others are. I can bet hundreds that Naruto spent all night training his ass off. Probably was taunting a fake Kakashi practice dummy. He's something special alright. Sakura probably hit the books and dreamed of little fantasies of impressing Sasuke. Duck-butt was probably contemplating his life in his room corner. Nah, I'm not so sure about him. I just followed the normal routine of never sleeping and looking like death.
I slowly turned my gaze to the clock and noted to myself that I was 10 minutes late now. Kaka-Baka won't show up on time ever. I bet you the rest of them are waiting right now.
Stretching my arms, I make my way downstairs to find the world's savior: food! I arrive in the kitchen to find Luna busy away making french toast. Man, Luna is the best. I sit down, knowing if I ask to help it won't end well. What, curious how wolves make french toast? I'd tell you but.. I'd have to kill you.
A warm, steaming plate of fresh and made-from-scratch french toast. A couple strips of bacon decorate the right side of the plate, while a couple star fruit slices decorate the left. I grin up at Luna, who currently has her paws on the counter.
"Thanks Luna for the meal! But get your paws off of my counter miss, or you might join this delicacy." I murmur with an all-too-cheery smile, eyeing the powdered sugar now on my clean counters.
"My apologies, eat up!" Luna flashes a wolfy grin in my direction. She gets off of the counter, striding towards my weapons bag.
Grasping the leather bag in her jaws, she drags it to the bottom of my chair. Luna, knowing I will have a spar with the man I am supposed to call sensei, starts to find good weapons. I sweatdrop, confused as to why she wants to pick them out. I quickly finish my meal and stop the white wolf. Her jaws are firmly clamped around one of my katanas.
